This study was conducted to examine whether the social exclusion of individuals influences cognitive social capital from the viewpoint of social integration and whether this relationship is moderated by the generation. The fuzzy set method is applied to measure the multidimensionality of social exclusion. The effects of social exclusion, measured by economic, residential, employment, and health dimensions, on individual trust and reciprocity were analyzed. As a result, social exclusion showed that cognitive social capital is decreased. As a result of analyzing the score by each dimension, the trust level decreased as the exclusion level increased at all levels. In the case of reciprocity, the more excluded from employment and health, the lower the willingness to help others in crisis. As a result of analyzing the moderating effect of the generation, the effect of the social exclusion on the trust reduction is relatively decreased in the industrialized generation (the elderly people). On the other hand, democratic generations (middle-aged) showed that their level of trust decreased sharply compared to other generations when social exclusion exceeded a certain level. Industrialized households had higher reciprocity than other generations when the social exclusion level was low, but reciprocity decreased as the social exclusion experience increased. According to the results of the research, it can be seen that the policy support is needed to escape the social exclusion in order to enhance the social trust and reciprocity of individuals for social integration. From the perspective of the generation, it is necessary to eliminate the social exclusion in order to promote the social trust of the democratic generation (middle-aged generation) and the reciprocity of industrialized households (elderly people).

본 연구는 사회통합의 관점에서 개인의 사회적 배제가 인지적 사회자본에 영향을 미치는지, 그 리고 이러한 관계가 세대에 의해 조절되는지를 확인하기 위해 수행되었다. 사회적 배제의 다차원 성을 고려하여 측정하기 위해 퍼지 집합방식을 적용하였다. 경제, 주거, 고용, 건강 차원을 통합하 여 측정된 사회적 배제 수준이 개인의 신뢰 및 호혜 수준에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 분석 결 과, 사회적 배제는 인지적 사회자본을 낮추는 것으로 나타났다. 각 차원별 점수로 분석한 결과, 모든 차원에서 배제 수준이 높아질수록 신뢰가 낮아졌다. 호혜성의 경우 고용, 건강 차원에서 배 제될수록 위급한 타인을 도울 의지가 낮아졌다. 추가적으로 세대의 조절효과를 분석한 결과, 전 쟁·산업화세대(고령자층)에서는 사회적 배제가 신뢰 약화에 미치는 영향력이 상대적으로 감소하였 다. 반면, 민주화 세대(중장년층)는 사회적 배제가 일정 수준을 넘어설 때 다른 세대에 비해 신뢰 수준이 급격히 감소함을 확인할 수 있었다. 전쟁·산업화 세대는 사회적 배제 수준이 낮을 때는 타 세대에 비해 호혜성이 높으나 사회적 배제 경험이 높아질수록 호혜성이 감소하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 사회 통합을 위해 개인의 사회신뢰와 호혜성을 증진하기 위해서는 사회적 배제로부터 벗 어날 수 있도록 정책적 지원이 필요함을 알 수 있다. 세대 관점에서는, 민주화세대(중장년)의 사회 신뢰와 전쟁·산업화 세대(고령자층)의 호혜성을 증진하기 위해 사회적 배제를 해소할 필요가 있다.
