The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of dance activity of the gwonbeon gisaeng on the Korean dance world, and the conclusion is as follows. First, gwonbeon is a gisaeng union made by gwanki who were in charge of the royal court, After liberation, gwonbeon in the capital area was dismantled. However, the provincial gwonbeon was changed to the private institute for traditional music and continued the traditional art of the gweonbeon. Second, if you look at the performances of the gwonbeon gisaeng, you can see that the gwonbeon dance changes in various ways as the place of the performance changes from the existing flat stage of the theater stage facing the audience. Also, the repertoire of the dance was diversified as the gwonbeon gisaeng became familiar with the theater stage. They put the court dance and folk dance on the same stage where performances were focused on the court dance and started to change the court dance or to perform new creative dances. Third, if you look at the influence of the dance of the gwonbeon on the Korean dance world, through the passing down of it by the gwonbeon dancing teachers and gisaeng, it was possible to maintain the spirit of the royal court dance. Possessors registered as national intangible cultural properties and provincial intangible cultural properties such as a Jinju soward dance, Honam salpuri, a Buddhist dance, etc. can be found to have been influenced by, or passed down the gwonbeon dance. In other words, as the passing down of the gwonbeon dance was carried out, the traditional Korean dance did not die out, which contributes greatly to the development of the Korean dance world.

본 연구는 권번기생의 춤 활동이 한국무용계에 어떤 영향을 미쳤는지 연구하는데 그 목적이 있으며, 결론은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 권번은 정재를 담당하던 관기들이 만든 기생조합이 그 효시로서 해방 후 수도권의 권번은 해체되었으나 지방의 권번은 사설국악원으로 변경되어 권번의 전통예술을 이어나갔다. 둘째, 권번 기생들의 공연활동을 살펴보면, 기존의 관객과 마주 보던 평평한 무대에서 극장식 무대로 연행 장소가 바뀜에 따라 권번 춤이 다양하게 변하는 것을 알 수 있다. 또한 권번 기생들이 극장무대에 익숙해지면서 춤의 레퍼토리도 다양해 졌다. 정재위주의 공연에서 정재와 민속춤을 같은 무대에 올렸으며, 정재를 변형하거나 새로운 창작춤을 안무해 선보이기 시작하였다. 셋째, 권번 춤의 전승활동을 통해 한국무용계에 미친 영향을 살펴보면,, 권번의 춤 선생들과 기생들의 전승활동을 통해 궁중정재가 사라지지 않고 그 명맥을 유지할 수 있었으며, 진주검무, 호남살풀이, 승무 등 국가무형문화재 및 시도 무형문화재로 등록된 보유자들은 권번 출신이거나 권번 춤의 영향을 받아 계승한 것을 알 수 있다. 즉, 권번 춤의 전승활동이 이루어짐으로서 한국 고유의 전통무용이 사장되지 않을 수 있었으며 이는 한국무용계의 발전에 그 기여도가 매우 크다고 할 수 있다.
