In this study, I examined how Japanese native speakers think about the naturalness of the “passive verb+tearu” syntax. In addition, I analyzed the typical usage of the “passive verb+tearu” syntax in various resultant phrases. The consideration was made in such a way as to take some practical examples of the “passive verb+tearu” syntax, which is used as an actual example in BCCW, and to judge the naturalness of the Japanese native speaker. As a result of the survey, it was found that more than half of the Japanese native speakers did not have a sense of discomfort in the “passive verb+tearu” syntax, Such a result is a result of proving that there has been a problem in handling “passive verb+tearu” syntax as an unnatural expression In addition, all the factors that affect the naturalness of the “passive verb+tearu” syntax are common to “the subject noun exists in a certain place”. In other words, it has become clear that the usage to emphasize that the subject exists in a place is a typical usage of “passive verb+tearu” syntax
