This paper examines the narrative of the 6·25 war hero of south and north Korea, and studies the reconstruction plan of it from the viewpoint of peace and humanism. The war hero narrative of North and South Korea shares the narrative structure of a brave warrior type of a martyr who is sacrificed in order to protect each system of state but the difference between perception of historical facts, the notion of war and war hero is so great that it is difficult to find a match. In the historical lesson on 6·25 war heroes, we need to pay attention to the following two things. First, it is necessary to confirm the difference between the two Korean war hero narratives and to think about what to do in order to reduce the difference. By doing so, students will have the opportunity to raise critical mind to explore the issues needed for peaceful coexistence and unification. Second, from the stereotype of a war hero = a soldier, we should consider war and war heroes from the point of view of survival and salvation, peace and dignity and human beings. From this point of view, we must discover new war heroes and reconstruct new war hero narratives.

본 논문은 역사교육에서 6·25전쟁 수업은 평화교육, 통일교육의 관점에서 이루어져야 한다는 관점 에 기반하여 남북한의 6·25 전쟁영웅 서사를 검토하고 그것의 재구성 방안을 고찰한 것이다. 현재 남북한의 전쟁영웅 서사는 육탄돌격형 전사의 모습을 기본으로 각각 체제의 정통성을 수호하고자 희생한 영웅의 전 공과 죽음이라는 서사 구조를 공유하고 있지만, 기본적인 역사적 사실 인식, 전쟁과 전쟁영웅에 대한 관념의 상이가 매우 크다. 6·25전쟁 수업에서 학생들이 남북 평화 공존과 통일을 위해 필요한 과제를 탐색하려는 실 천적 문제의식을 키울 수 있게 하기 위해서는 첫째, 남북한 전쟁영웅 서사의 상이함을 확인해 보고 그 상이 함을 축소하기 위해서는 무엇이 필요한지, 어떻게 해야 할지를 생각해 보는 활동이 필요하다. 둘째, 전쟁영 웅=군인이라는 고정관념에서 벗어나 생존과 구원, 평화와 살림, 생명과 존엄성의 관점으로 전쟁을 접근할 필요가 있다. 이러한 가치의 관점에서 전쟁영웅이 아니라 전쟁의인을 발굴하고 새로운 전쟁의인 서사를 구성해야 할 것이다.
