Park Kyung-ni "Toji" is that all life is connected organically shaped 'fate community'. See the creatures that move away from imperialist oppression in order to fulfill the freedom and creative ability. Ecological characteristics of this "Toji" is divided into three categories. 박경리 『토지』는 모든 생명체가 유기적으로 연결된 ‘운명공동체’임을 형상화한다. 『토지』는 이 생명체들이 자유와 창조적 능력을 발휘하기 위해서는 제국주의 억압으 로부터 벗어나야 한다고 본다. 특히 자연과 인간(여성)에 대한 가치 체계가 자본의 논리에 포섭되어 있는 자본주의적 체제를 거부하고 공동체 중심의 자급경제로 돌아 가야 한다고 본다. 그렇게 땅을 어머니로, 사람을 땅의 자손으로 보는 자연에 대한 접근법에 따라 조선여성농민들은 일제에 저항하고 있었던 것이다. 이런 『토지』의 생태학적 특성은 세 가지로 나눌 수 있다. 첫째, 제국주의 자본 유입과 조선의 자연· 여성·어린이의 빈곤화가 유기적으로 연결되어 나타난다는 점이다. 둘째, 『토지』가 조선여성농민의 자급적 노동 가치를 드러냄은 물론, 여성 노동을 유기론적 산파의 복원과 관련하여 드러냄으로써 자급적인 여성노동의 가치를 부각시킨다는 점이다. 셋째, 제국주의 자본 활용과 주체적 어머니로서의 땅을 긍정적으로 그려낸다는 점이 다. 그만큼 『토지』는 모든 것의 상호관련성을 주장하며, 생명체의 생존능력을 믿는 작가의식이 반영된 작품인 것이다. 이에 본고는 『토지』가 사회적 에코페미니즘 특성 을 지닌 작품임을 밝히는 데에 연구목적을 둔다.
