The aim of this study is analyzing of Independent Living(IL) experiences of user of Personal Assistance Service(PAS) for the disabled. The participants, 13 people with severe disabilities, were known to this author by the introduction of rehabilitation center for the disabled, the disabled group, independent living center, public officer in charge of social welfare, and participants in this study. They agreed with this author to participate in this study after listening to explains on aims and ways of this study.To achieve its aim, We have done in-depth interviews 13 users of PAS for the disabled. And we have analyzed the results with phenomenological analyzing methods the Nvivo 10 and the Giorgi. The results of the analysis, IL experiences of users of PAS resulted positive and negative aspects. The positive experience resulted 4 main meanings and 8 subjects. And the negative experience resulted 4 main meanings and 7 subjects. In the aspect of positive experience, when they were using PAS, The disabled found their identities, and their health recovered. And the disabled led a same life like ordinary people and recovered means of their lives. On the other hand, In the aspect of negative experience, They were having many difficulties with the problem as grading severely of medical standards, high self-payment, low benefit level, and the service that did not reflect need of users. And the lack of occupational consciousness ethics as a personal assistant and the problem of lack of responsibility of users of PAS for the disabled were pointed.

본 연구는 장애인활동지원서비스 이용자들의 자립생활 경험 분석을 통해 자립생 활의 본질적 의미를 탐색하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위해 13명 의 장애인활동지원서비스 이용자를 대상으로 심층면접을 실시하였고, Nvivo 10과 지오르기(Giorgi)의 현상학적 분석방법을 통하여 결과를 분석하였다. 분석 결과, 장 애인활동지원서비스 이용자들의 자립생활 경험은 긍정적인 측면과 부정적 측면 두 가지로 도출이 되었다. 긍정적인 경험은 4개 중심의미와 8개의 주제가 도출되었으며, 부정적인 경험은 4개 중심의미와 7개의 주제가 도출되었다. 긍정적인 경험 측면에서 장애인들은 서비스를 이용하면서 자신에 대한 주체성을 찾게 되고, 심신의 건강이 회복되었으며 보통사람들과 똑같은 생활을 영위하면서 삶의 의미를 되찾았다. 반면 부정적인 측면에서 의학적 기준의 등급심사, 높은 본인부담금, 낮은 급여수준, 이용 자의 욕구를 반영하지 못한 서비스 등의 문제로 인해 어려움을 겪고 있었으며, 활동 보조인의 직업윤리의식 부족과 이용자의 책임감 결여의 문제도 지적되었다.
