Critics have a character as a mediator between creators and the people who read and enjoy the works. They interpret and evaluate the works which are created, and then help the people to understand the works. Criticism learners are also mediators between creators and the people who enjoy the works. If criticism learners are the people who enjoy the works, they become mediators as implied readers. If co-learners and criticism teachers are the people who enjoy the works, criticism learners become mediators by reading and writing criticisms. The criticism learner as a mediator takes various roles : critic, creator, learner, teacher, analyzer, synthesizer etc.- in the process of criticism. Because they have the characters, they can close the distance between creators, the works and the people. In addition to this result, they can create new products of criticism, too. As the criticism learners have a character as a mediator for various roles, there are some suggestions for criticism teachers and learners. The learners have to identify with the process of the creators' creations and the critics' criticisms as if they were experiencing it themselves. Criticism teachers should reconsider the evaluation of creative criticism based on creative misunderstanding.

비평가는 작가와 향유자 사이에서 중간자 성격을 지닌다. 그것은 작가가 생산한 비평 대상에 대해 해석과 평가를 내리며, 이를 향유자에게 전달하여 향유자가 더욱 비평 대상을 이해하기 쉽도록 돕는다. 비평적 학습자 역시 창작자와 향유자 사이에서 중간자적 속성을 가진다. 비평적 학습자 자신이 향유자가 될 때는 내포 독자로서, 동료 학습자나 비평교사가 향유자가 될 때는 비평문을 읽고 쓰는 행위를 통한 중간 자적 위치를 점유한다. 중간자로서의 비평적 학습자는 비평교육의 과정에서 비평가와 창작자, 학습자이 자 교수자, 비평 방법에 있어서의 분석과 통합 등 다양한 역할을 수행한다. 이는 작가 와 비평 대상, 향유자 사이의 거리를 좁히는 결과와 함께 새로운 비평적 산출물을 생성한다. 이러한 비평적 학습자의 중간자적 속성과 다양한 역할 수행은 비평 교사와 학습자 에게 여러 가지 시사점을 주고 있다. 학습자에게는 작가의 창작 과정에 대한 추체험 과 전문비평가의 비평 과정 추체험을 해 보아야 한다는 점이고, 비평 교사에게는 비평적 학습자의 창조적 오독을 전제로 한 창조적 비평에 대한 평가 인식이 재고되 어야 점이다.
