This study was performed through in-depth one-on-one interview on the career consciousness of migrated youths and their career decision-making process experienced in the Korean society. The study findings are summarized as follows: First, the participants were found to work for a college or job in Korea by acquiring Korean nationality or studying Korean language, etc. But most of them had vague career plans. Second, it was discovered that career choice was differently affected according to the differences in individual migration experience and factors affecting career consciousness. Therefore, a career support organization is necessary to assist the career building of youths with migrant backgrounds along with an expanded career counseling system and career support to make their migration background as a strength.

본 연구는 후기 청소년기 이주배경청소년의 진로의식과 한국사회에 서 경험하는 진로선택과정에 대하여 일대일 심층면담을 통해 진행되었 다. 본 연구의 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 진로의식 영역에서 연구 참여자들은 진학 및 취업을 위해 국적 취득과 한국어 공부 등의 노력 을 하고 있으나, 대부분이 막연한 진로 계획을 갖고 있는 것으로 나타 났다. 진로선택과정 영역에서는 개인의 이주 경험의 차이와 진로의식 영향 요인에 따라 진로선택에 미치는 영향이 달라질 수 있다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서 이주배경청소년의 이주배경을 강점으로 살릴 수 있는 정책적 방안과 진로지원이 확대되어야 한다.
