The purpose of this paper is to explore a possibility of developing new stories on Old Trails between the Ancient Doctrine of Gyeonggi(京畿) and Mt. Geumgang from the practical perspective of Culture Contents. It attempts to examine how the Old Trails can be recon structed to find its contemporary value utilizing humanities resources like Mt. Geumgang Yusangi or Mt. Geumgang travel account. Yusangi is not only a well-structured literary work, but also a historical record. 『Geumgangrok(金剛錄)』 which was recently published by Suwon Museum is a Yusangi by a Suwon native who spent about 29 days traveling around Mt. Geumgang and returned to Suwon. The Yusangi can be used as a source of reconnecting various places mentioned in the traveller’s journey to and fro. More speci fically, this paper conceives an idea to develop a culture content that transcend time and space. For example, by examining the Yusangi, it situates Suwon, Gyeonggi-do as a point of departure and Mt. Geumgang as that of arrival while embracing the places in-between on the Old Trails and Goryeo and Choseon Dynasty as a historical background. A local culture content must be based on historical facts. Likewise, if a content distorts historical facts, it may not be able to claim its credibility even if it offers some interesting elements of a story. With that in mind, this paper reconstructed the Old Trails of Mt. Geumgang through the Mt. Geumgang Yusangi. Two things were compared. One is 『Dowondo(桃源道)』 out of 22 postal station systems connecting to Gaegyong, a capital city of Koyro Dynasty from 『Goryeo-sa(高麗史)』. This other is Gyongheungje path 2 from Shin, Gyong-Jun’s 『Dorogo(道路考)』, and it was then confirmed through 『Daedongyeojido(大東與地圖)』. It was, first of all, confirmed that the content of Mt. Geumgangsan Yusangi is an object of the culture Archetype with its unique value as a cultural resource. Secondly, the Yusangi can serve as an agency or a source of accommodating different culture contents. Finally, one of the important things to note in the work of Old Trails of Mt. Geumgang is that Korea is at a juncture to embrace a new era of peace and reconciliation on the Korean Peninsula. Moreover, with the land tour of Mt. Geumgang possibly beginning soon, this paper concludes by suggesting that it is ‘now’ to start thinking about what kinds of valuable cultural resources should be developed and available to the travelers to Mt. Geumgang.

본 연구는 금강산 유산기라는 인문자원을 활용하여 현재적 가치로 재구성이 가능한지 여부를 문화콘텐츠의 활용적 시각으로 경기천년 금강산 옛길 개발 가능성을 재고하는데 목적이 있다. 유산기는 일정한 형식을 갖추고 작성된 문학작품이면서 역사적 기록물이다. 최근 수원박물관에서 발간한 『금강록』은 수원사람이 29일간에 걸쳐 금강산을 유람하고 수원으로 돌아와서 작성한 유산기이다. 이런 금강산 유산기는 특정지역 뿐만 아니라 전체여정에 포함된 지역과 지역 간의 연결을 매개하는 소재로 활용가능하다. 출발지 수원과 금강산을 유람하고 수원으로 돌아온 기록을 가지고, 고려시대와 조선시대를 아우르는 시공간 연계콘텐츠를 기획하였다. 지역문화콘텐츠는 기본적인 역사적 사실을 중심으로 해야 한다. 완성된 콘텐츠의 재미요소가 충분하더라도 역사적 사실 요소를 왜곡한다면 콘텐츠의 지속성을 담보할 수 없다. 이에 『고려사』 기록을 통해 고려시대 개경을 중심으로 각 방면으로 연결되는 22역로망 중 도원도와 조선시대 신경준 『도로고』의 경흥제2로를 기반으로, 『금강록』의 구간을 『대동여지도』와 비교하였다. 그 결과 금강산 유산기를 기반으로 금강산 옛길 구현이 가능하였다. 이를 현재적 가치로 활용하기 위해 『금강록』을 소재로 한 ‘수원의 금강산 옛길’, 천년경기 소재로의 ‘금강산 경기옛길’, 남북협력 콘텐츠로의 ‘금강산 평화탐방 경기옛길’ 등 3가지 루트의 시공간 옛길 개발을 제시하였다. 결과적으로 금강산 유산기 콘텐츠는 보편적 문화원형의 객체로서 이미 하나의 완결된 문화자원이기도 하면서 다시 또 다른 콘텐츠 간 연계의 소스로 제공해줄 수 있는 중간재, 혹은 촉매제로도 활용할 수 있는 소재이다. ‘금강산 옛길’의 현재적 가치로의 구현 과정에서 중요한 점은 우리는 새로운 시대를 맞고 있다는 것이다. 이제 곧 시작되는 ‘금강산 육로관광’ 시대를 대비하기 위해 어떠한 준비를 할 것이며, 향유자에게 어떤 향유요소를 통해가치를 제공할 것인가에 대한 고민을 ‘바로 지금’ 시작해야 한다는 것이다.
