Recently, as foreign workers residing in Korea or international marriages increase, Korea is standing on the threshold of a new multicultural society. Accordingly, the issue of social integration has emerged as the core issue of political, social and cultural fields in Korea. The present study reviews how French films reflected the history of the French settlers and the national policy for them. Also it analyzes how Korean films draw the life of foreign workers living in Korea, comparing with the French films. Finally, this study is to contribute to make changes of the recognitions and practices about multiculturalism. For example, the study is focusing on looking for a way they are integrated into Korean society, if the policy of 'assimilation' is not valid. Therefore, this paper is to investigate the changes of awareness and attitudes about multiculturalism in Korean society, comparing Korean films and French films.
