Korea has begun to change into the aged society with the dawning of the 4th industrial revolution era. The key technologies in the era would be artificial intelligence, big data, internet of things, robot, and so on. The older adults in the era may be able to maintain better quality of life than the contemporary older adults with a variety of products and services with applying the technologies. For the better quality of life, the products and services should be developed to tailor to different types of elderly users who might have a variety of needs, and further should be supplied inexpensively to them. How the likelihood that the Korean older adults maintain the better quality of life would be in the 4th industrial revolution era was reviewed in the context of policies on digital aging or smart aging in this article.

우리나라는 제4차 산업혁명 시대의 도래와 함께 고령사회로 변모하기 시작했다. 제4차 산업혁명 시 대의 핵심기술은 인공지능, 빅데이터, 사물인터넷, 로봇 등의 기술인데, 그 핵심기술을 잘 응용할 경 우 노화로 인해 어려움을 지닌 고령자들이 생활영역의 제품 및 서비스를 받으면서 삶의 질을 높일 수 있다. 고령자들이 제품 및 서비스의 발달에 따른 혜택을 얻기 위해서는 고령자 각각의 다양한 욕 구를 충족시켜주는 맞춤형 제품과 서비스가 저렴하게 제공될 수 있어야 한다. 본고에서는 미래의 고 령자들이 생의 후반기에서도 생활상의 큰 변화를 경험할 가능성이 어느 정도인지를 우리나라의 디지 털 에이징이나 스마트 에이징 정책 차원에서 조망하였다.
