The client was a 70-year-old woman who suffered from sleep disturbances, anger toward surrounding people(explosive anger disorder), hwa-byung symptoms, and the difficulties to break from the disturbing life. The difficulties were formed from the unfair and unjust treatment by the former co-worker. Forgiveness therapy that is fundamentally to resolve the deep pain experienced by the interpersonal relations has been chosen as a means of overcoming the difficulties. Through the forgiving process, difficulties such as sleep disturbances were solved, at the same time she could evaluate her past life more positively and satisfying. Forgiveness therapy has been proved to be effective in resolving interpersonal conflicts that were not solved until the old age and can improve the quality of life of older people.

내담자는 70세 여성으로 수면장애, 주변사람들에 대한 분노, 화병증상, 그러한 삶에서 탈피하지 못하 는 어려움 등을 겪고 있었다. 그 어려움은 직장동료의 부당하고 억울한 대우에 의해 파생된 것이었 다. 그 어려움을 극복하는 수단으로 대인관계에서 겪은 마음의 깊은 상처를 근본적으로 해결하는 용 서치료가 선택되었다. 이 용서치료 과정을 통해 내담자는 수면장애 등의 어려움을 모두 해소했을 뿐 만 아니라 자신의 삶을 보다 긍정적이고 만족스럽게 평가하게 되었다. 용서치료는 노년기까지 해결 되지 않았던 대인관계 갈등의 해결에 효과적이며, 노년기 삶의 질을 향상시킬 수 있음을 확인하였다.
