The purpose of this study was to examine the differences in ethical beliefs and management skills according to developmental levels of music therapists working for children. The collected data from randomly sampled 83 professional Korean music therapists working for children were divided into two groups based on their development levels, and then the t-test of the independent sample was conducted to address the research purpose. First, this study found that there were statistically significant differences between the suitability and efficiency of therapy and the ability of the counsellors for children among the subordinate categories of ethical belief, depending on the developmental a level of professional music therapists for children. Second, the study indicated that there were statistically significant differences in structuralization of therapeutic relationship, ability of the counsellor for children, confidentiality and privacy protection, depending on the development level of music therapists for children. This result showed that the therapists in the group with high development level have relatively right ethical beliefs, compared to the other group, and properly manage ethical issues such as structuralization of therapeutic relationship, ability, and confidentiality and privacy protection for the clients. This study provides basic information on directions of ethical education in the training program for music therapists.

본 연구의 목적은 아동대상 음악치료사의 발달수준에 따른 윤리적 신념과 대처능력의 차이를 알아 보는 것이다. 이를 위해, 아동 대상 전문음악치료사 대상으로 무선 표집 방법을 통해 표집 된 83부 의 설문지를 독립표본 t-검정을 통해 분석하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 아동대상 전문음악치료사의 발달수 준에 따라 윤리적 신념의 하위유형 중 치료의 적합성과 효과성, 아동상담자의 능력이 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 아동대상 음악치료사의 발달수준에 따라 윤리적 대처 능력의 하위유형 중 비밀보장 및 사생활 보호, 치료적 관계 구조화, 아동상담자의 능력이 통계적으 로 유의미한 차이가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 발달수준이 높은 집단의 치료사들은 낮 은 집단에 비하여 상대적으로 올바른 윤리적 신념을 가지고 있으며, 치료적 관계 구조화, 능력, 내 담자의 비밀보장 및 사생활 보호 등과 같은 윤리문제 대처행동 또한 적절하게 시행하고 있는 것을 시사한다. 본 연구는 아동대상 전문 음악치료사들의 발달수준과 윤리적 신념 및 대처능력의 차이를 밝힘으로, 치료사 훈련에서의 윤리 교육과 전문가 보수교육에서의 실질적인 윤리 교육의 필요성을 재조명하고 윤리교육의 방향성을 제시한다는 점에서 의의가 있다.
