In this paper, as a representative example of the Domestic Information Security Company, Igloo Security’s international market advancements are examined. The method of entry and strategy was split into three parts (Initial, second entry and re-leap) and analyzed. As a result of analysis, Igloo Security has entered the US and Japan, which are the centre of information security, based on its competitive advantage in Korea, in the form of a green field. Soon after, Igloo Security contracted the largest “Ethiopian country Cyber Safety Center Construction Project ". Especially, based on exclusive technologies that Igloo Security have, they were able to introduce ESM Solutions, control operation technologies, education, and various security service to Ethiopia. While economic crisis happened, they faced difficulty in advance to overseas. However, Igloo Security focused on the Internet of Things (IoT) which is future growth power through digital transition, they were able to solve security problems all over the IoT lifecycle and creating new business value. As a result, Igloo Security was able to re-leap with digital transition’s core element IoT and mobile marketing platform. Igloo Security settled these problems with Digital transition, introducing Secure IoT platform, and Strategic M&A. Currently, they become a global security management company.

본 연구는 국내 정보보호업체로 대표적인 “이글루시큐리티”가 해외시장에 진출하는 과정을 고찰하였다. 진입방법 및 전략 등에 대하여 총 3단계(초기, 2차 진입, 재도약)으로 구분하여 분석을 진행하였다. 분석결과 이글루시큐리티는 국내에서의 경쟁우위를 바탕으로 정보보안의 중심인 미국, 일본에 그린 필드(Green Field) 방식으로 진출했고, 얼마 지나지 않아 이글루시큐리티는 단일 해외 계약 건으로는 최대 규모인 “에티오피아 국가사이버안전센터 구축 사업”을 수주 하게 된다. 이렇게 수주한 사업은 이글루시큐리티가 보유하고 있는 독점적 기술을 바탕으로 ESM 솔루션 그리고 관제 운영기술, 교육 등 여러 보안 서비스를 에티오피아에 도입하면서, 에티오피아의 금융망과 국방망에 대한 신속하고 효율적인 관제 능력을 확보하게 되었다. 하지만 이글루시큐리티는 세계 금융위기로 해외 진출의 어려움이 발생하면서 고비를 겪게 되었다. 이글루시큐리티는 경영전략을 수정하면서 4차 산업혁명에 맞추어 디지털 전환하게 된다. 디지털 전환은 미래 성장 동력인 IoT(사물인터넷) 모바일, AI(인공지능), 빅데이터, 클라우드에 초점을 두고 있으며, 새로운 비즈니스 가치 창출에 할 수 있다. 그 결과 이글루시큐리티는 디지털 전환을 통해 핵심요소인 IoT와 모바일 활용한 마케팅 플랫폼전략으로 재도약을 하게 되었다. 그 후 디지털 전환 및 IoT 플랫폼(Secured IoT Platform) 출시와 전략적 M&A를 통해 해외진출 문제를 해결하였고 결국 글로벌 보안관리 기업으로 도약할 수 있었다.
