The purpose of this study is to understand the emotional labor experience of investigators and to provide basic information for establish effective countermeasures. To understand the nature of the investigators' emotional labor experience, the qualitative case study was used, and 10 people were selected as participant for an in-depth interview. The recorded interview contents were categorized as meaning units, 20 sub-themes, and 5main theme. The themes of the investigator's emotional labor were ‘Emotional labor-Provoking situation: the seed of stir’, ‘The primary response of emotional labor: the shaking of mind’, ‘Cope with Emotional labor: Resolving the tangled thread’, ‘Secondary response of emotional labor: remnants of emotions’ and ‘The meaning of emotional labor: facing emotional labor’. In the study, the investigator's emotional labor experience were analyzed and the countermeasures against emotional labor proposed by the investigators were presented in physical, mental, and institution aspects.

본 연구의 목적은 보호직 조사관의 감정노동 경험을 이해하고 효과적인 대응방안을 마련하기 위한 기초자료를 제시하는데 있다. 조사관의 감정노동 경험의 본질을 이해하고자 질적사례연구방법을 활용하였으며 조사전담으로 일한 경험이 있는 보호직 공무원 10명을 연구참여자로 선정하여 심층 면담을 실시하였다. 녹취된 인터뷰 내용은 녹취록으로 전사하여 의미단위, 하위주제, 주제로 범주화하였고 분석결과 5개의 주제와 20개의 하위주제가 도출되었다 조사관의 감정노동의 주제는 ‘감정노동의 유발 상황 : 파문의 씨앗’, ‘감정노동의 1차적 반응 : 마음이 흔들림’, ‘감정노동의 대처 : 얽힌 실타래 풀기’, ‘감정노동의 2차적 반응: 감정의 찌꺼기’, ‘감정노동의 의미 : 감정노동과 마주함’으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서는 조사관의 감정노동 특성을 분석하였고, 조사관들이 제안한 감정노동 대응방안을 물리적 측면, 정신건강적인 측면, 제도적인 측면으로 분류하여 제시하였다.
