After World War I, people witnessed the devastation caused by war, and art is better than surrealism, which explores the unconscious world inherent in human beings, starting from the rationality and rationality that has supported the last century, and from the dadaism of irrationality and irrationality went. The study of the unconscious and subconscious of the Austrian psychoanalyst, Sigmund Freud, has influenced many artists and forms the basis of surrealist theory. Freud tried liberal arts as a way to treat mental illness in hysterical research, and Freud 's automatic technique also applied to surrealism. Artists have used it as a methodology and principle of execution that expresses the inner world that is oppressed visually and naturally. This paper attempts to explore the surrealist image of Surrealism, a representative film of Andalusian dogs, focusing on Freud's psychoanalysis. The Dog of Andalucia is a surrealistic representative film based on the Automated Technology Law, and it captures the unconsciousness of human abyss on the screen. The movie is a dreamlike image without the development of the story. However, the scenes in the movie are similar in that they act as a device to reveal unconsciousness in a similar context to the surrealist paintings. In other words, Freud's struggle for reason and censorship, which he claims to be largely based on human unconsciousness, displeasure and anxiety due to oppression, and Tanathos, the impulse of sexual energy, the eruption and death of libido, It creates a surrealist logic. I hope that this paper will present a direction for the new avant-garde film in the age of video related to the being evaluated as the best masterpiece of the 20th century beyond the surrealism representative movie.

제 1차 세계대전 이후 사람들은 전쟁으로 인한 참상을 목격했으며 이에 미술도 지난 세기를 지탱해온 합리성과 이성이 아닌 비이성과 부조리의 다다이즘에서 출발해 인간 내면에 내재된 무의식의세계를 탐구하는 초현실주의로 나아갔다. 오스트리아의 정신분석학자인 프로이드(Sigmund Freud) 의 무의식과 잠재의식에 대한 연구는 많은 예술가들에게 영향을 미쳤고, 초현실주의 이론의 근간을이루게 된다. 프로이드는 히스테리 연구에서 정신병을 치료하기 위한 방법으로 자유기술법을 시도했는데, 프로이드의 자동기술법은 초현실주의에도 적용되었다. 예술가들은 억압되어진 내면세계를 시각적으로 자연스럽게 표출하는 실행의 방법론이자 원리로서 활용하였다. 이 논문은 초현실주의 대표적인 영화인 <안달루시아의 개>에 드러난 초현실주의적 도상을 프로이드의 정신분석학을 중심으로 연구해보고자 한다. <안달루시아의 개>는 자동기술법에 의거한 초현실주의 대표적 영화로 인간 심연의 무의식을 화면 안에 담아내고 있다. 영화는 스토리의 전개가 없이꿈을 꾸듯 이미지들이 두서없이 뒤죽박죽 연결되어 있다. 하지만 영화 속 장면들은 초현실주의 작품도상과 비슷한 맥락으로 무의식을 드러내는 장치로 작용한다는 점에서 일맥상통하다. 즉 프로이드가인간의 무의식에 주로 주장하는 이성과 검열에 대한 투쟁, 억압에 의한 불쾌와 불안 심리, 성적 에너지인 리비도의 분출과 죽음의 충동인 타나토스 등이 영화 안에서 도상으로 드러나며 이는 다른 초현실주의 작품 속에서도 등장하는 것으로 초현실주의적 논리를 창출하고 있다. 이 논문은 <안달루시아의 개>가 초현실주의 대표 영화를 넘어서서 20세기 최고의 걸작으로 평가받는 것과 관련해서 영상의 시대 새로운 아방가르드 영화가 나아갈 방향을 제시하기를 기대해본다.
