The wave of political reforms in Brazil after the presidential election is a challenge against progressive democracy. Since the election of right-wing Jair Bolsonaro, the current political situation in Brazil is at the time of the big transition. The new government, with the goal of overcoming the crisis, regaining economic growth and social stability through the eradication of corruption is requiring a comprehensive reform and its bold implementation. Bolsonaro's commitment to the presidential campaign began with a scope to oppose state intervention in the market through the isolated policies and systemic corruption that the left-wing government had used. Excessive intervention in the economy has caused the existing governments to incur irreversible damage to the fiscal health namely the national economy, and the spread of this system has accelerated instability in Brazilian society. The current Brazilian society no longer wants a politically distorted framework of ideology. The Brazilian New Government is at the crossroads of overcoming the crisis and making a full-scale reform, in order to ensure a completely different level of action from the routes taken by the existing governments.

대선 이후 브라질에서 진행되고 있는 정치개혁의 물결은 진보적 민주주의 에 대한 도전이다. 극우파 자이르 보우소나루(Jair Bolsonaro)의 대통령 당선 이 후 현재 브라질 정국은 대전환의 시점에 놓여있다. 위기정국에서 벗어나고 국 가경제를 바로 세우며 부패근절과 경제성장을 통한 사회안정을 목표로 하는 신정부는 포괄적 개혁과 과감한 실천과제를 안고 있다. 보우소나루가 대선공 약에서 내세운 대대적 개혁추진의 발단은 기존의 좌파정부가 행해온 고립적 정책노선과 조직적 부패를 통한 시장개입에 반대하는 차원에서 시작되었다. 경제에 대한 지나친 개입으로 인해 기존 정부들은 재정 건전성과 국가경제에 돌이킬 수 없는 피해를 야기시켰고, 이러한 체계의 확산이 브라질 사회의 불 안정을 가속화 시켰다. 현재 브라질 사회는 더이상 정치적으로 왜곡된 이념의 틀을 원치 않는다. 기존 정부들이 취한 노선과는 전혀 다른 차원의 행보를 확 실히 수행하기위해 브라질 신정부는 위기 극복은 물론 전면적 개혁을 추진해 야 할 대전환의 기로에 서 있다.
