The purpose of this study is to show the importance and direction of the multicultural capabilities of police officials in our society, which is becoming a multicultural society by studying the multicultural sensitivity and multicultural capabilities of police officials, and by identifying multicultural historians. To achieve the objectives of these studies, the study was conducted by police officials on September 1, 2017, and through September 30. The results of this study showed that: First, the multicultural sensitivity level of police officials was observed with an average of 3.81 (SD = .38), and cultural integration attitudes by sub-areas (M = 4.06, SD = .53), cultural opportunities, etc. (m = 3.91, SD = .40), was high in the region order of the culture poison character acceptance (M = 3.80, SD = .41), and relatively cultural knowledge acquisition (M = 3.35, SD = .49) was found to have a low region level. Second, the multicultural competency level of police officials was found to be on average 3.50 (SD = .47), and for sub-areas, the perceived competency for multiculturalism (M = 3.80, SD = .47), multicultural knowledge and technical competence (M = 3.39, SD = .52) appeared in the net. Third, the correlation analysis was conducted to determine the relevance of the multicultural sensitivity and multicultural capabilities of police officials, the total multicultural sensitivity of police officials and the multicultural capacity of a significant static correlation (R = .703, p < .001) were found to have. Fourth, as a result of the multi-hierarchical regression analysis of the multicultural sensitivity of police officials to explore the impact on the multicultural capacity, the explanation of multicultural sensitivity to multicultural competency was found to be 34.6%. Among the multicultural and sensitive variables, the culture knowledge acquisition (t = 7.525, p < .001) and Cultural poison attribute acceptance (t = 4.578, p < .001) were found to have a significant positive impact on the overall multicultural competency. In order to improve the multicultural capabilities of police officials, it is expected that multicultural sensitivity will be improved, and the efforts of individual and police officials to improve acceptance of knowledge and cultural poison characteristics of multiculturalism will be requested. Finally, the development of a multicultural education program should be done so that you have a comprehensive view of multiculturalism.

이 연구는 경찰공무원의 다문화 민감성과 다문화 역량을 살펴봄으로써 다문화 사 파악함으로써 다문화 사회가 되어 가고 있는 우리 사회에서 성공적인 다문화 치안 정 책 및 치안서비스 제공을 위한 경찰공무원의 다문화 역량에 대한 중요성과 방향성을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이러한 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 이 연구는 경찰공 무원을 대상으로 2017년 9월 1일부터 9월 30일까지 설문조사를 실시하였다. 이 연구의 분석결과는 다음과 같이 나타났다. 첫째, 경찰공무원의 다문화민감성 수준은 평균 3.81(SD=.38)로 나타났으며, 하위 영 역별로는 문화적 통합태도(M=4.06, SD=.53), 문화적 기회군등(M=3.91, SD=.40), 문 화적 독특성 수용(M=3.80, SD=.41)의 영역 순으로 높았으며, 상대적으로 문화적 지식 습득(M=3.35, SD=.49)영역 수준이 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 경찰공무원의 다문화 역량 수준은 평균 3.50(SD=.47)로 나타났으며, 하위 영 역별로는 다문화에 대한 인식역량(M=3.80, SD=.47), 다문화 지식 및 기술 역량 (M=3.39, SD=.52)의 순으로 나타났다. 셋째, 경찰공무원의 다문화 민감성과 다문화 역량 간의 관련성을 알아보기 위해 상 관분석을 실시한 결과, 경찰공무원의 전체 다문화민감성과 다문화 역량 간에는 유의미 한 정적 상관(r=.703, p<.001)이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 경찰공무원의 다문화 민감성이 다문화 역량에 미치는 영향력을 살펴보기 위해 위계적 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과, 다문화역량에 대한 다문화민감성의 설명력은 55.7%로 나타났으며, 다문화 민감성변인 중에서는 문화적 지식습득(t=7.525, p<.001)과 문화적 독특성 수용(t=4.578, p<.001)영역이 전체적인 다문화 역량에 유의미한 긍정적 인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이 연구의 결과를 종합해 보면, 경찰공무원의 다문화 역량을 높이기 위해서는 다문 화 민감성이 향상되어야 할 것이며, 특히 다문화에 대한 지식습득과 문화적 독특성에 대한 수용 향상을 위한 교육과 경찰공무원 개개인의 노력이 요청된다 할 것이다. 마지 막으로 다문화에 대한 포괄적인 관점을 가질 수 있도록 다문화 교육 프로그램의 개발 이 함께 이루어져야 할 것이다.
