The research observes causes and problems in Wife to Husband Violence, recently increasing, and proposes effective countermeasures. Accordingly, suggestions of caudes, current states and case analysis of Wife to Husband Violence as followings. Above all, as a result of case analysis of Wife to Husband Violence, first, the number of domestic violence has consistently increased over the past 3 years(2013~2016), and Wife to Husband Abuse accounted for the second highest proportion among the types. Second, as a result of damage situations by gender, Wife to Husband Violence was constantly increasing with higher tendency of emotional, rather than physical violence - presenting noticeable increase of under 20 male victims, rather than female victims. Third, the major cause of both violences by female and male was concentrated on economic reasons, and particularly for male victims, they have been tolerating consistent violence by their wives owing to attachment to their children. In addition, observing case analysis results of Wife to Husband Violence, first, Self-Serving bias of wives on husband violence and inappropriate recognition and social bias on violent behaviors were the causes. Second, when powers of economic and decision-making discretions are granted to wives, rather than husbands and positions of wives are higher than the ones of husbands, Wife to Husband Violence occurs furthermore, when wives get financial stresses in lives due to early retirement and income decreases and are frequently exposed to alcohol, these also became the causes of Wife to Husband Violence. Wife to Husband Violence is discovered to be caused by difficulties in asking for help due to social bias, improper recognition on violent behaviors by individuals, position of husbands in families and the degrees of drinking alcohol and children attachment of husbands. Thus, constant concerns and supports of the state and local governments as well as awareness of that Wife to Husband Violence is also a crime should be offered.

본 연구는 최근 증가하고 있는 아내의 남편폭력에 대한 원인과 문제점을 살펴보고, 이에 대한 효과적인 대응방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 이에 아내의 남편폭력 발생 원인에 대한 실태 및 사례분석 결과를 제시하면 다음과 같다. 우선 아내의 남편폭력에 대한 실태분석 결과, 첫째, 가정폭력은 지난 3년간(2013∼ 2016) 지속적으로 증가했으며 가정폭력 유형 중 아내의 남편학대가 두 번째로 높은 비 율을 차지하고 있었다. 둘째, 피해자의 성별에 따른 피해현황을 분석한 결과 아내의 남 편폭력은 꾸준히 증가하고 있으며 주로 신체적 폭력보다는 정서적 폭력이 많았고, 여성 피해자에 비해 남성피해자는 20대 이하의 피해자가 눈에 띠게 늘어나고 있었다. 셋째, 폭력발생 원인은 여성, 남성 모두 주요한 폭력의 원인은 경제적인 이유였지만 특히 남 성의 경우 자녀에 대한 애착 등으로 인하여 아내의 지속적인 폭력행위를 참고 견디는 경우도 많았다. 다음으로, 아내의 남편폭력에 대한 사례분석 결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 아내의 남편폭 력에 대한 자기 편향적 사고방식(Self–Serving bias)의 잘못된 폭력행위에 대한 인식과 사회적 편견 등이 발생 원인으로 나타났다. 둘째, 가정 내 경제권과 결정권 등이 남편보 다 아내에게 있는 경우 즉 아내의 위치가 남편의 위치보다 우위에 있을 때 아내에 의한 폭력행위가 발생하며 아내가 남편의 조기퇴직과 소득감소 등으로 생활상 경제적 스트 레스를 받게 되는 경우 그리고 아내의 잦은 음주 노출 등도 남편폭력의 발생 원인이 되 었다, 아내의 남편폭력은 사회적 편견 등으로 인한 도움요청의 어려움, 개인의 폭력행위에 대한 잘못된 인식, 남편의 가정 내 위치, 음주, 자녀의 애착정도 등으로 인하여 발생하 는 것으로 나타났다. 따라서 아내의 남편폭력도 범죄라는 사회적인 인식과 함께 국가와 지자체의 지속적인 관심과 지원이 필요하다.
