There are many stories about war in "Heikemonogatari". Also, "fight", "battle", and "war" frequently appear in terms of war. The character of "Heikemonogatari" related to the war varies from the emperor, nobility, monks, samurai, and women. The war perceptions and behaviors they took show a wide spectrum, such as the incompetent type, the self-styled type, the tactical type, the honorary obsession type, the penance type, the rear type, the betrayal type, skeptical type, and prayerful type. The narrator's perception in the preface to "Heikemonogatari" prescribes war as the actions of the rebels against the Emperor. This reflects the perspective of the intellectuals of the time. The speaker in the work reveals his voice in relation to the evaluation of war. It is the case that appraises the character's behavior or the result of the battle. People without names in cities also evaluate the meaning of people or events or form public opinion. The narrative of "Heikemonogatari" related to the war is deemed to be a virtue in dealing with the development process in detail. On the different version, the editorial attitude which is abstinent to be treated so thoroughly and is not fierce is also outstanding. On the other hand, the attitude toward honorable life or the healing of the trauma is prominent through the aspect of the historical event.

일본 역사군담 󰡔헤이케 모노가타리󰡕(平家物語)에는 전쟁에 관한 많은 이야기가 있다. 전쟁 관련 용어로 ‘싸움’(たたかい) ‘전투’(いくさ) ‘전쟁’(合戰) 등이 빈번하게 나타난다. 전쟁과 관련된 󰡔헤이케 모노가타리󰡕 등장인물은 천황, 귀족, 승려, 무사, 여인에 이르기까지 다양하다. 그들의 전쟁인식과 행동은 ㉠무능형 ㉡자기 과시형 ㉢전술형 ㉣명예 집착형 ㉤참회형 ㉥배후 조종형 ㉦배신형 ㉧회의형 ㉨기원형 등의 스펙트럼을 보인다. 󰡔헤이케 모노가타리󰡕 서문에서 서술자는 천황을 거역한 반란자들의 소행으로 전쟁을 규정한다. 이는 당대 지식인의 관점을 반영한 것이다. 전쟁 평가와 관련하여 작품 속 화자가 자신의 목소리를 드러내기도 한다. 도성 안 이름 없는 서민들 또한 인물이나 사건의 의미를 평가하고 여론을 형성한다. 전쟁 관련 󰡔헤이케 모노가타리󰡕 서술은 전개 과정을 상세히 다루는 것을 미덕으로 삼는다. 반면 세부 묘사가 과하지 않도록 절제의 편집 미학을 취하기도 한다. 역사적 사건의 면면을 통해 명예로운 삶 또는 죽음의 트라우마를 치유하려는 태도가 나타나 있다.
