The purpose of this study is to understand the job domain and job task of life sports instructor as a profession. For this purpose, eight life sports instructors belonging to the Korea Sports Council who have more than 8 years' experience were selected as research participants. The data were collected through in - depth interviews and participation observation, and the collected data were analyzed through inductive category analysis. The results of this study are as follows. First, there are four main areas of job function of the life sports instructor: class management, administrative work, support for conferences, and self – management. Second, the task tasks of the life sports instructor as a profession appeared as 1) teaching instruction, development of class program, and management of clubs in terms of teaching management, 2) administrative administration support and life sports promotion business administration and management Support. 3) improvement of treatment for competition support, and 4) investment in maintenance education and self - development was a job of the life sports instructor as a profession. As shown in the above results, the life sports instructor can be said to be a professional worker who has both theoretical and practical skills for activating life sports and expanding the base. However, as a profession, there are not many instructors who can practice the job field of life sports instructor smoothly. Therefore, education system should be prepared for raising professionalism in order to increase the capacity of life sports instructor. Also, it is necessary to supplement life sports instructor with specialized expertise.

이 연구의 목적은 전문직으로 생활스포츠지도사의 직무영역과 직무수행 과제가 무엇인지 이해하는데 있다. 이 를 위해 유목적표집법을 활용하여 8년 이상 경력이 있는 대한체육회 소속 생활스포츠지도사 8명을 연구참여자로 선정 하였다. 이들을 대상으로 심층면담과 참여관찰을 실시하여 자료를 수집하였고, 수집된 자료는 귀납적 범주분석을 통해 분석되었다. 이러한 연구방법을 통해 나타난 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 생활스포츠지도사의 직무영역은 크게 네 가지 로 수업관리, 행정업무, 대회지원, 그리고 자기관리였다. 둘째, 전문직으로 생활스포츠지도사의 직무수행 과제는 1) 수 업관리 면에서 수업지도, 수업프로그램 개발, 동호인 관리로 나타났으며, 2) 행정업무 면에서 행정업무 지원과 생활체 육 진흥사업 관리 및 운영의 지원으로 나타났다. 3)대회지원에 대한 처우개선, 4) 보수교육과 자기계발 투자도 전문직 으로 생활스포츠지도사의 직무수행 과제였다. 이상의 결과에서 보여주듯이 생활스포츠지도사는 생활체육 활성화와 저 변확대를 위해 이론과 실기능력이 겸비된 전문직 종사자라고 할 수 있다. 하지만, 전문직으로서 생활스포츠지도사의 직 무영역을 원활하게 실천할 수 있는 지도사는 아직까지 많지 않다. 따라서 생활스포츠지도사의 업무역량을 높이기 위해 전문성 함양을 위한 교육시스템이 마련되어야 하며, 특화된 전문성을 갖춘 생활스포츠지도사의 충원도 필요하다.
