In this research, the nature of the Provincial Sympathy Tour of Nakamura Kichiemon and Ichikawa Ennosuke and the role that their performances played in the Total War period of the Korean Peninsula are clarified. The purpose of the Provincial Sympathy Tour of Nakamura Kichiemon and Ichikawa Ennosuke was to offer solace to the bereaved families of members of the Imperial Army and other soldiers at the front. This was received enthusiastically by the Government-General and by the Korean Army personnel. In addition to providing solace to bereaved families, the profits from the performances were dedicated to the national defense and to the condolence operations of the Korean Army Support Federation. The programs included the patriotic and supporting dramas such as Kiyomasaseichūryoku and Ōmuramasajirō. These programs provided a means of solidarity among Japanese on the Korean Peninsula, without which the Korean Government-General and Korean Army would not have been able to face the Total War period. The Japanese Korean Army played a critical role in the Total War period in Korea. Its aim, as well as the aim of the Korean Government-General, was to overcome their wartime position by appealing to the “Japanese Spirit”. This was facilitated in part by the tours of the above-mentioned important Kabuki Actors.

본 연구의 목적은 나가무라 기치에몬과 이치가와 엔노스케의 조선위문순업의 실태를 해명함으로써 그들의 공연이 조선의 총력전에 어떠한 역할을 하였는지 밝히는 것이다. 기치에몬과 엔노스케의 위문순업의 목적은 황군위문과 출정군인유가족의 위안으로, 그들의 위문 공연은 조선총독부, 조선군관계자의 큰 환대를 받았다. 이들의 공연은 위안 뿐만 아니라 공연 수익을 위문 사업을 통괄하였던 조선군사후원연맹에 헌금 함으로써 운영에도 도움이 되었다. 조선총독부는 총력전을 위해 식민정책의 하나인 내선일체을 내세워 조선인들의 지원병제도와 징병제를 실시함으로서 동화정책을 실행하였는데, 기치에몬의 경성청년단발단식의출석과 엔노스케의 조선인의 징병발포기념공연은 조선총독부의 정책을 찬동한 결과를 초래하였다. 또한 기치에몬과 엔노스케의 위문순업의 연목은 조선에서 처음으로 공연된 작품이 많았는데 그 중에는 애국극<기요마사 추세이로쿠>와 익찬극<오무라 마스지로>가 포함되었다. 이상으로 기치에몬과 엔노스케의 순업공연은 재조선 일본인조선군의 위안 뿐만 아니라재조일본일의 결속을 다지는 역할을 담당하였다는 것이 밝혀졌다. 이것은 조선의 총력전에재조선 일본인조선군의 협력이 불가피한 상황에서 가부키공연을 통하여 일본정신을 호소함으로써 전시 국면을 극복하려고 한 조선총독부와 조선군의 목적이 있었던 것으로 보여진다.

本研究は、中村吉右衛門と市川猿之助による朝鮮の慰問巡業の実態を解明すること で、彼らの公演が朝鮮の総力戦においてどのような役割を果たしたのかを明らかにす るものである。 吉右衛門と猿之助の慰問巡業は、皇軍慰問と出征軍人遺家族の慰安がその目的であ り、彼らの慰問公演は朝鮮総督府、朝鮮軍関係者に大きな歓待を受けた。これは、在 朝鮮日本人朝鮮軍およびその遺家族やその関係者の慰安になるだけではなく、その公 演収益は国防献金として納められ、慰安⋅慰問事業を統括していた朝鮮軍事後援連盟 の運営にも役立てられた。 彼らが行なった演目の中には、愛国劇、翼賛劇である 󰡔清正誠忠録󰡕 󰡔大村益次郎󰡕 が含まれており、これは在朝鮮日本人の結束力をなくしては総力戦に臨めない朝鮮総 督府、朝鮮軍の事情と一致する演目でもあった。 以上、吉右衛門と猿之助の朝鮮における慰問巡業は、在朝鮮日本人朝鮮軍関係者の ｢慰安｣のみならず、 ｢在朝鮮日本人の結束｣の役割を果たしていたことが明らかに なった。これは、朝鮮の総力戦において在朝鮮日本人朝鮮軍の協力は不可欠であり、 大物歌舞伎俳優たちによる巡業公演を通じて ｢日本精神｣をアピールすることで一致 団結し、戦時局面を乗り越えようとした朝鮮総督府、朝鮮軍の狙いがあったとみられる。
