The purpose of this study is to explore the Korean values of the spirit of the Donghak . To this end, the researchers paid attention to the spirit of the period of Donghak. The method of this study is a comparative study of Shin DongYeop and Kwon Jung-Saeng’s work. Focusing on the works of Shin Dongyeop poet, and then conducted a comparative study with the work of Kwon Jeong-saeng’s poetry. In this study, the contents related to the works of Shin, Dong-Yeop ‘s one of the representative works, is a work that reconstructs the context of modern and contemporary history of Korea with the poet’s imagination added to the entire process of the Donghak revolution. Suweon, Haewol, and Jeun Bong-Jun, as well as fictional characters such as Ha-neu and Im Jin-a. The narrative development through this shows that Donghak can be the spirit of the times through the modern and contemporary history of Korea. In this study, the contents of the works of Kwon Jeong-Saeng writer are as follows. The works of the Kwon Jeong-Saeng writer are thoroughly based on the artist’s experience. Based on the experience, the artist’s values are dissolved in his work. The experience is desperate and desperate, and its expression is expressed in simple form. In addition, the contents of the writer do not escape from the stories of the lives of the neighbors, but I learned that the contents drawn through them touch on the tasks of the times such as unification. The results of this study are summarized as follows. Through the works of Shin Dong-Yeop, the spirit of Donghak is turns out on horizontal code. The basic principle that defines all relations such as the world including people and things, the country and the country, as well as the relationship between people and people is horizontal thinking. This is a common code that is found in the works of the author’s writer. Horizontal codes can be a key to solving the problems of modern and contemporary history in Korea. It is meaningful that this Korean solution based on Donghak can be a direction to solve the problems of humanity and the international society as a global standard today.

이 연구의 목적은 동학의 시대정신이 갖는 한국학적인 가치를 탐구하는 것이다. 이를 위해 연구자는 동학의 시대정신에 주목하였다. 이 연구의 방법은신동엽의 작품을 대상으로 동학의 코드를 밝히는 것이다. 신동엽 시인의 시를 중심으로 밝혀진 동학의 코드를 통해 시대 정신을 살피고, 그것과 권정생작가의 작품 세계와 관련하여 연구를 진행했다. 이 연구에서 신동엽 시인의 작품과 관련된 내용은 다음과 같다. 신동엽 시인의 대표작 중 하나인 <금강>은 동학 혁명의 전 과정에 시인의 상상력이 더해져서 한국 근현대사의 맥락을 재구성한 작품이다. 수운과 해월, 녹두장군등의 역사적 인물이 등장하면서 동시에 하늬와 임진아 등 허구적 인물이 함께등장한다. 이를 통한 서사적 전개는 동학이 한국 근현대사를 관통하는 시대정신이 될 수 있음을 보여준다. 이 연구에서 권정생 작가의 작품과 관련된 내용은 다음과 같다. 권정생 작가의 작품은 철저하게 작가의 체험에 기반하고 있다. 체험을 기반으로 작가의 가치관이 작품에 녹아 있다. 그 체험은 처절하고 절박한 것이되, 그것의 표현은 소박한 형태로 드러난다. 또한 작가가 기술하는 내용은 이웃의 일상인들의 삶 이야기를 벗어나지 않지만, 이를 통해서 그려지는 내용은 통일 등 시대적 과제에 닿아 있음을 알게 되었다. 이 연구의 결과는 다음과 같이 정리된다. 신동엽 시인의 작품을 통해서 볼때 동학의 정신은 수평적 코드를 핵심으로 한다. 사람과 사람의 관계는 물론사람과 사물을 포함하는 세계, 그리고 나라와 나라 등 모든 관계를 규정하는기본 원칙은 수평적 사고이다. 이는 권정생 작가의 작품에서도 발견되는 공통의 코드이다. 수평적 코드는 한국 근현대사의 제반 문제를 해결하는 열쇠가 될수 있다. 동학에 기반한 이런 한국적 솔루션은 글로벌 표준으로서 오늘날 인류와 국제사회의 문제를 해결하는 방향이 될 수 있다는 점에 의의가 있다.
