The purpose of present study was the effect of resistance exercise training on middle-aged obese women. Forty women who have over 30 % of body fat were participated in the survey. They had resistance exercise training for 16-weeks and body composition profiles, blood lipids profiles, and fitness test were performed at pre- and post-training. After 16-weeks training, their body weight, body fat, body mass index, waist to hip ratio were significantly decreased (p<.05). In addition, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein cholesterol, and triglycerides were significantly decreased (p<.05), and high density lipoprotein cholesterol was significantly increased (p<.05). Moreover, grip strength, sit-ups, back strength, balance, reaction time, flexibility, heart rate, and blood pressure significantly enhanced after exercise training (p<.05). These results suggested that long-term resistance training has also beneficial effect on the obese people especially in the middle-aged obese women.
