In the case of Chinese students studying the Korean language, there is noted confusion in regards to the use of auxiliary sentence structure used in statements of will and that which is used in statements of hope. Therefore, this study has the stated purpose of finding the characteristics and boundaries of these two auxiliary sentence structures through comparison and ascertaining the varied structural differences that may exist between the two. The second section of this study, ‘An Unabridged Dictionary of Standard Terms’, is a comprehensive directory of the aforementioned auxiliary sentence structures, which was prepared after carefully considering all possible auxiliary structures used in to state will or hope as well as the varied sentence endings related to the target language. This directory is separated according to the various auxiliary structures ’ meaning. In the third section of this study the various differences between auxiliary sentence structure used to in statements of will and that which is used in statements of hope were determined. All of the diverse subtleties between the two structures were determined and presented. In addition the situations in which each structure may be used has been presented. This study in regards to the differences between auxiliary structures for statements of will and those for statements of hope will prove to be a great help in addressing the difficulties that students currently face in this area. It is hoped that after this study there will continue to be more detailed research in this particular area of study. Key

본고는 중국인 학습자에게 많은 혼동을 주는 의지․희망을 나타내는 보 조용언 구문표현의 의미적 특성과 통사적 제약을 알아보고 각각의 보조용 언 구문표현을 비교해 의도․희망표현 간의 차이점 찾아냈다. 각각 표현 간 의 미묘한 의미 차이 정리했을 뿐만 아니라 각각 표현이 어떤 경우나 상황 에서 쓰이는지를 제시하였다. 2장에서는 국립국어원 ≪표준국어대사전≫에 등재된 보조용언을 찾아내 어 보조용언과 결합하는 선행 문법요소를 살펴본 후 보조용언 구문표현의 목록을 정리하였다. 보조용언 구문표현을 의미에 따라 분류하였다. 3장에서는 의도․희망표현 간의 차이점 찾아냈다. 각각 표현 간의 미묘 한 의미 차이 정리하고 각각 표현이 어떤 경우나 상황에서 쓰이는지를 제 시하였다. 본고는 의지․희망을 나타내는 보조용언 구문표현의 비교 연구로서 외국 인 학습자에게 보조용언 구문표현에 대한 학습 및 사용상의 어려움을 해결 하는 데에 도움이 있다. 향후 보조용언 구문표현에 대해 더 깊이 있게 연구 할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.
