Exploring the realities of leadership program based on drama education, this study aims to reveal that not only the improvement of individual self-directivity and leadership in higher education but also the similar capabilities of communication, interpersonal relationships and self-management through the process of co-experience. The leadership program runned by A university was selected and analyzed through the case study method to explore what happened and the change process they experienced in this program. The following themes are addressed concerning the meanings and effect on this drama education program on leadership. First, participants re-discovered themselves observing how they stard a conversation and develop a relationship in the midst of strangers. Second, many of the communication and decision-making processes creating scenes, organizing stories, and directing the stage in drama education have been a good practice for attracting integration by influencing and forming consensus. Third, it was revealed that participants experienced the process of creating cooperation vividly by meeting new people, identifying the results of forming and developing relationships on stage. Fourth, they made their bodies realize that they had forgotten about their daily life. Finally, it was revealed that the compressed and intense changes and experiences through the program caused calm ripples in their return-to-back daily lives, giving them a different attitude.

본 연구는 사례연구를 통해 대학교육에서 교육연극을 통해 학생 개개인의 자기주도성과 리더십의 향상 뿐 아니라 공동경험의 구성과정을 통해 의사소통과 대인관계, 자기관리 등의 주변 유사 역량까지 개발 될 수 있음을 드러내는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위해 A대학에서 운영한 리더십 교육 프로그램인 3박 4일간의 리더십 캠프를 사례로 하여 이 프로그램이 준비되고 진행되는 일련의 과정에 어떠한 사건 과 변화가 있었는지 다양한 자료를 분석하여 연구하였다. 도출된 사례연구의 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 프로그램의 참여학생들은 교육연극을 위해 모인 안면이 전혀 없는 타인들 속에서 말을 걸고 관계를 맺 어나가는 나를 보며 자기 자신을 재발견하였다. 둘째, 교육연극에서 장면을 만들고 스토리를 구성하여 무대를 연출하는 과정에서 이루어지는 숱한 의사소통과 의사결정의 과정은 영향력을 발휘하고 공감대 를 형성하여 통합을 이끌어내는 좋은 실습의 장이 되었다. 셋째, 새로운 사람들을 만나 관계를 형성하고 발전시킨 결과를 무대에서 확인하며 협력의 생성 과정을 생생하게 체험한 것으로 드러났다. 넷째, 일상 생활에서 잊고 있는 자신의 몸을 자각하게 해주었다. 마지막으로 이들이 본 프로그램을 통해 경험한 압 축적이고 강렬한 변화와 성취의 체험은 되돌아간 일상에서도 잔잔한 파문을 일으키며 전과는 다른 태도를 갖게 해주는 것으로 나타났다. 본 사례는 교육연극이 성인교육 또는 평생교육의 장에서 가지는 무한한 가능성을 확인하였으며, 다양한 교육연극 기법의 성인교육 적용과 함께 더 많은 사례 발굴이 필요성을 제기하였다.
