As aging society and low birth rate have emerged as significant social problems, developing female workforce has become an important policy topic. In particular, diverse policy alternatives have been developed to reenter highly-educated women whose careers were interrupted because of marriage and pregnancy into labor markets. In spite of the recent growth of governmental support for career-interrupted women, working conditions and environments for the women have still been poor. Consequently, many career-interrupted women tend to apply for the jobs that require lower capabilities than they have, thereby resulting in inefficient utilization of female human resources. This study analyzes the recent changes of women's economic activities and reemployment policies for career-interrupted women. In addition, this study also examines overall situations regarding women's career interruption and searches for appropriate policy alternatives to resolve the problem, based on a survey on the career-interrupted women of Jeju.

고령화와 저출산이 사회문제로 대두되면서 여성인력 개발이 정책의 주요 대상으 로 등장하였다. 특히, 결혼과 출산으로 경력단절 된 여성인적자원을 활용하는 정책 으로 고학력 여성인적자원 활용 정책이 개발되고 있다. 지금까지 경력단절과 관련된 정책이 여성을 중심으로 추진되지 못하면서 여성과 관련된 경력단절을 예방하기 위한 정책 역시 상대적으로 취약했다. 그러나 최근 두 두르러지게 여성들의 경력단절이 심화되면서 여성인적자원의 활용을 위한 관점에서 주목받고 있는 것이다. 본 글을 여성의 경제활동 및 경력단절 여성의 재취업 지원 정책의 변화를 분석하 였다. 아울러 제주여성 가운데 경력단절을 경험한 여성을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시 하여 이들의 경력단절을 예방하기 위한 정책 대안을 발굴하는데 목적이 있다.
