In Korea, the suicide rate is steadily increasing, and an average of 36 people per day die from suicide. As a result, the frequency of police suicide attempts is also increasing. In order to minimize the suicide attempt and the victimization of the police officers, 119 emergency staffs I would like to examine the countermeasures. First, when the police first arrive at the crisis of suicide attempt, 119 emergency services as well as a suicide prevention center (mental health center), which is a professional institution, should be contacted to maintain coordination and to make efforts in an integrated manner. Second, it is critical to provide various countermeasures to ensure the safety of police officers in the crisis of suicide attempt. Third, after rescuing the life of the attempted suicide, it is necessary to return the rescuer immediately from the field and do not neglect it. Fourth, it is necessary to expand educational opportunities to cultivate basic knowledge such as wise and skillful conversation method on the assumption that police officers face unexpected suicide attempt crisis situations.

우리나라는 자살률이 지속적으로 증가하고 있고, 하루 평균 36명이 자살로 사망 하고 있다. 이에 따라 경찰의 자살시도 위기상황 출동 빈도도 갈수로 높아져 가고 있는데, 이런 위기상황에 자살시도자는 물론 출동 경찰관의 희생을 최소화하기 위 해 경찰뿐 아니라 119구급대, 관련 전문 국가기관과의 공동노력을 통한 다양한 대응 방안을 살펴보고자 하고자 한다. 먼저, 자살시도 위기상황에 경찰이 최초로 출동하는 경우 119구급대 뿐만 아니라 전문기관인 자살예방센터(정신보건센터)에도 연락을 취하여 공조체제 유지, 통합적 인 노력이 필요하다. 둘째, 자살시도 위기상황에서 경찰관의 안전 확보를 위한 다양 한 대응책 마련이 긴요하다. 셋째, 자살시도자의 생명을 구조한 뒤 피구조자를 현장 에서 바로 돌려 보내 방치하지 말고 반드시 전문기관인 정신보건센터에 인계하여 재 시도 방지 등 사후 효과적 대응이 필요하다. 넷째, 경찰관이 불시에 자살시도 위기 상황에 직면할 경우를 가정하여 현장에서 지혜롭고 노련한 대화법 등 기본지식 함양 을 위한 교육 기회 확대가 필요하다.
