The purpose of this study is to explore the perception of physical education subjects perceived by elementary pre - service teachers and to provide basic data for the improvement of physical education class programs of elementary pre - service teachers. To accomplish this purpose, this study collected data on the perception of physical education subjects using open questionnaire for 172 students attending D Education University in Daegu Metropolitan City. The collected data were transferred to a computer for easy analysis of data, and the following results were derived using an inductive content analysis method in the form of input, categorization, and zoning. The result of categorization of pre - service elementary teachers' physical education curriculum was classified into major areas such as physical education, mental health, education, social development, etc. As a result of the frequency analysis of the classification of physical education subjects, pre - service elementary teachers showed the highest perception of physical education (36.629%), followed by mental health (26.744%), education (25.582%), (5.812%), and social empowerment (5.233%). Among these perceptions, the most frequent was the awareness of physical development (physical activity, 13.953%), mental health (vitality, 10.466%), education (physical education knowledge, 11.628%) and social development (social development, 4.070%).

본 연구의 목적은 초등예비교사들이 지각하고 있는 체육교과에 대한 인식을 탐색하는 것으로 향후 초등예비교사들의 체육교과 수업 프로그램 개선을 위한 기초자료를 제공하는데 있다. 이러한 목적을 달성하기 위하여 본 연구에서는 D광역시에 소재한 D교육대학교에 재학 중인 172명의 학생들을 대상으로 개방형 설문지를 활용하여 체육교과에 대한 인식에 대한 자료를 수집하였다. 수집된 자료는 자료분석 용이성을 위해 원자료를 컴퓨터에 전사하였으며, 입력, 범주화, 영역화의형식으로 진행하는 귀납적 내용분석 방법을 사용하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 초등예비교사들의 체육 교과에 대한 인식 범주화 결과 대영역으로 신체함영, 정신건강 함양, 교육함양, 사회성함양, 기타로 분류되었다. 중영역 으로는 신체함양 영역은 신체활동, 신체기능·능력 증진, 체력증진, 신체활동 동기부여, 건강, 정신건강 함양 영역은 활력, 정신건강, 삶의 질 향상, 스트레스 해소, 교육함양 역역은 체육교과 지식, 신체활용 지식, 교사양성, 사회성 함양은 사회성 발달, 인성 함양, 기타 영역으로 분류되었다. 체육교과 인식에 대한 영역별 빈도분석 결과 신체함양(36.629%)으 로서 인식이 가장 높았고, 다음으로 정신건강 함양(26.744%), 교육함양(25.582%), 기타(5.812%), 사회성 함양 (5.233%) 인식 순으로 나타났으며, 신체함양 인식은 신체활동(13.953%), 정신건강 함양 인식은 활력(10.466%), 교육함 양 인식은 체육교과 지식(11.628%), 사회성 함양 인식은 사회성 발달(4.070%)로 가장 빈도가 높았다.
