Park Jaedoo was a sijo poet who wrote ‘The Magnolia’ and won the annual spring literary contest held by Dong-A Daily News in 1965. In that year, he formed the literary coterie called ‘Yul’, and began his career. He left many of stanzaic sijos until he died in 2004. The reason he created a lot of stanzaic sijos was that he tried to convey the contents of complex realities efficiently and deeply. The uniqueness found in the formal aspect is a lot of dialogue. As a result, it has a solid effect on reciting the sijo itself and a vivid delivery. It also uses quotation marks to express historical and social contradictions and absurdities. This allows the readers sympathize with the speaker’s voice. Dialogue is the product of an experimental spirit in that it changes the order and structure of the sijo. Next, this study examined the transformation of poetic emotion and consciousness change in the work. The main emotions of “YooUnYeonHwaMun” of his early works—the first period—were dealing with a simple life as a friendly citizen. In the second period, however, he goes to criticize the reality world represented well in “The Mugwort”. He looked at the realities and the values of life and made a judgement about them and figured his love of the country. Likewise, according to the times, the sijos of poet Park Jae-doo expands macroscopically in natural affinity and self-reflection to deal with the historical consciousness and criticism.

박재두 시조시인은 1965년 동아일보 신춘문예에 시조 ｢목련｣이 당선되고, 그해 ‘율’ 동인을 결성하여 활동하였으며, 2004년 타계하기까지 많은 연시조를 남겼다. 그가 연시조를 많이 창작한 것은 복잡 다양한 현실의 내용을 효율적이면서도 깊이 있게 전달하기위한 노력의 일환이었다. 형식적인 면에서 발견되는 특이사항은 구의 배행을 달리하는일반적인 방법 못지않게 대화체를 많이 구사하고 있다는 점이다. 그 결과 입체적인 효과가 있어 시조를 읊기에 좋고 전달력이 생생하다는 장점을 들 수 있다. 또한 역사적이고 사회적인 모순이나 부조리를 따옴표를 사용하여 하고 싶은 말을 실감나게 표현한다. 역사적이고 현실적인 비판은 자신의 목소리보다는 타인의 목소리를빌어 나타내는 것이 즉 대화체를 구사하는 것이 독자의 공감의 폭이 크기 때문이다. 대화체는 율격과 구조에 변화를 주고 새로운 면모를 보여주는 실험정신의 산물이다. 다음으로 작품 속에 나타나는 시적 정서와 의식의 변모를 살펴보았다. 작품의 내적의식은 시정신과 관계를 맺고 있는데, 1기 『유운연화문』의 주된 정서는 자연과 고향이라는 향토적인 것과 교감하려는 서정성이다. 자연과 친화하는 소시민으로서의 소박한 삶을다룬 작품들이 많다. 창작시기별로 2기에 해당하는 『쑥뿌리사설』로 갈수록 현실에 눈을돌리면서 현실세계에 대한 비판을 지향하게 된다. 현실과 인생에 대한 이치를 살피고, 삶에 대한 가치 판단을 하면서 나라 사랑하는 모습을 형상화하였다. 이렇듯 시대의 흐름에 따라 박재두 시인의 시세계는 자연 친화와 자아성찰에서 거시적으로 확대하여 역사의식과 비판정신을 다루게 된다.
