Declaring the Fourth Industrial Revolution, Klaus Schwab said revolution is ongoing in three ways. The first is that the speed is now expanding at exponential speed rather than linear speed. Second, the breadth and depth of the system shows a distinctly different view from the previous generation. Third, the system shock shows that the whole system of the state, enterprise and industry is changing. Actually, the development of technology and the development of science are beyond human imagination. The technologies that symbolize the fourth industrial revolution are artificial intelligence, the Internet of things and the cloud. These technological and scientific developments not only change human lives, but also change their minds and environments. In this age, we asked if the question of Human, God, and faith community would be valid. The development of artificial intelligence and technology is increasingly replacing humanity. However, human life span is increasing exponentially. Maybe later, humans could be immortal. The dream of living forever without dying was the most basic and religious wish of man. But when human beings become immortal without the help of God, they will ask about existence. In this age, God has no choice but to ask what it means. Could science that allows human beings the immortality that God has to do can take the place of God? In the context of the collapse of human understanding and the question of the meaning of God, is the church, or community of faith, possible? First, I think we should ask about the meaning of community in this age. The existing concept of community collapses and the community of cyberspace, such as SNS, is becoming an alternative. In particular, individualism is spreading and we are already meeting with the community. However, the individualized people are rather pursuing the community. Perhaps this is the possibility of a community of faith. In other words, it is not a fragmented individual but an individual who builds a community again. This can be said to be a reassembly of individuals liberated from the previous collectivistic community. In the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, our questions about man, God, and the faith community should be renewed. Not only that, but also what should be pursued by the community created in the future environment should be newly established.

4차 산업혁명을 선언하며 클라우스 슈밥은 세 가지 면에서 혁명이 진행 중이라고 했다. 첫째는 속도로 이제 선형적 속도가 아닌 기하급수적인 속도로 전개 중이라고 했다. 둘째 범위와 깊이에서 이전 세대와는 확연히 다른 면을 보여 주고 있다고 했고, 셋째 시스템 충격으로 국가, 기업, 산업의 전체 시스템에서 변화가 나타나고 있다고 했다. 실제적으로 살펴보면 기술의 발전이나 과학의 발전이 인간의 상상력을 뛰어넘고 있다. 4차 산업혁명을 상징하는 기술들은 인공지능, 사물인터넷 그리고 클라우드라고 할 수 있다. 이러한 기술과 과학의 발전은 이제 인간의 삶을 바꾸어 놓을 뿐만 아니라 그 생각과 환경 조차도 바꾸어 놓고 있다. 이런 시대에 우리에게 인간과 신, 그리고 신앙공동체에 대한 질문은 유효할 것인지를 물었다. 인공지능과 기술의 발전은 점점 인간의 자리를 대체해 나가고 있다. 그런데 인간의 수명은 기하급수적으로 늘어나고 있다. 어쩌면 이후에 인간은 불멸할 수도 있을 것이다. 죽지 않고 영원히 산다는 꿈은 인간의 가장 본초적이며 종교적인 소망이었다. 그런데 앞으로 인간이 신의 도움이 없이 불멸하게 되면 존재에 대한 질문을 하게 될 것이다. 이런 시대에 신은 어떤 의미가 있을까 물을 수밖에 없다. 신이 해 주어야 할 불멸을 인간에게 허락한 과학은 신의 자리를 대신할 수 있을까. 이렇게 인간의 이해가 무너지고 신의 의미에 대해서 의문이 제기되는 상황에서 교회, 즉 신앙공동체는 가능할 것인가. 먼저 이 시대에 공동체의 의미에 대해서 물어야 할 것 같다. 기존의 공동체 개념이 무너지고 SNS 등으로 나타나는 사이버 공간의 공동체가 대안이 되고 있다. 특히 개인주의가 확산되며 벌써 공동체에 대해서 회의를 품고 있다. 그런데 이렇게 개인주의화된 사람들이 오히려 공동체를 추구하고 있다는 것이다. 아마 이 지점이 신앙공동체의 가능성이라고 볼 수 있다. 즉 파편화된 개인이 아니라 개인으로 다시 공동체를 세워가는 것이다. 이것은 이전의 집단주의적인 공동체를 벗어나 해방된 개인들의 합으로 다시 이루어지는 것이라고 할 수 있다. 4차 산업혁명 시대에 인간과 신, 그리고 신앙공동체에 대한 우리의 질문은 새로워져야 할 것이다. 그뿐만 아니라 앞으로 새로운 환경에서 만들어지는 공동체는 무엇을 추구해야 하는지도 새롭게 정립되어야 할 것이다.
