This research has begun to seek effective countermeasures against dating violence, which is becoming a serious social problem in recent years. The main purpose of this study was to examine the actual incidence of dating violence and the influencing factors of dating violence. For this purpose, a questionnaire survey was conducted for university students. Finally, 530 questionnaires were analyzed. From the result of this research above, it may be summed up as follows. First, as a result of analyzing the experience of dating violence perpetration, 10.2% of respondents had experience in physical violence, and 24.3% of them had experience in psychological violence. In addition, 5.7% of respondents responded to the questions that they had experience in sexual violence perpetration, and that 56.4% of them had experience in controlling violence perpetration. Second, as a result of verifying the mean difference of experience in dating violence perpetration by gender, this study has found out that the male's experience of perpetration was higher in sexual violence, and that the female's experience of perpetration was higher in the rest of violence. Third, as a result of verifying the factors which affected the dating violence, this study has shown that the respondents' experience in witnessing the impulsivity and domestic violence had a strong influence in physical violence. Psychological violence was influenced by the experience of witnessing the impulsivity and spousal violence, and period of dating and number of dating. In sexual violence, the number of dating was proved to be the strongest influencing factor. And in controlling behavior, stereotypes about gender roles have been identified as the major influencing factors. Based on the results of this study, this researcher proposed some countermeasures against dating violence.

이 연구는 최근 심각한 사회문제로 대두되고 있는 데이트폭력에 대한 효율적인 대응방안을 모색하기 위해 시작되었다. 연구의 목적은 데이트폭력 발생실태를 파악하고 데이트폭력의 영향요인을 검증하는 것이었다. 이를 위하여 대학생들을 대상으로 설문조사를 실시하였으며 최종적으로 530명의 설문결과를 분석하였다. 분석결과의 주요 내용은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 데이트폭력 가해경험을 분석한 결과, 응답자의 10.2%는 신체적 폭력 경험이 있었고, 24.3%는 심리적 폭력을 가한 경험이 있었다. 또한 응답자의 5.7%는 성적 폭력 가해경험이 있었으며 56.4%는 통제적 폭력 경험이 있다고 응답하였다. 둘째, 성별에 따른 데이트폭력 가해경험의 평균차이를 검증한 결과, 성적 폭력에서는 남성의 가해경험이 많았고 나머지 폭력에서는 여성의 가해경험이 높은 것으로 검증되었다. 셋째, 데이트 폭력에 영향을 미치는 요인을 검증한 결과, 신체적 폭력은 응답자의 충동성과 부부폭력을 목격한 경험이 강하게 영향을 미치고 있었다. 심리적 폭력은 충동성과 부부폭력 목격경험, 교제기간과 이성교제 횟수가 중요한 영향요인으로 나타났다. 성적 폭력에서는 이성교제 횟수가 가장 강력한 영향요인으로 검증되었다. 그리고 통제적 행동에는 성역할 고정관념이 주요한 영향요인으로 밝혀졌다. 이러한 연구결과에 근거하여 데이트폭력에 대한 몇 가지 대응책을 제안하였다.
