Up to now, the "HongbeakwhaJeon(紅白花傳)" known in the academic world have about thirty books in the form of Chinese manuscripts, Korean manuscripts and old-printed Version. However since it is concentrated on the Chinese manuscripts "HongbeakwhaJeon", research on the system and characteristics of the Korean text is insignificant. In this article, "Sunseolsuuirok(筍薛隨義錄)" is a Korean translation of the Chinese text "HongbeakwhaJeon". It is guessed that the reason for naming the title is that it paid attention to the contents of this work. "HongbeakwhaJeon" deals with the relationship between the A heroine Gyeilji and the two Heroine Sunjikso, Seolyuran. But It is important to note that the two female heroes take their own accord. Therefore, it is considered that transcriber is titled "Sunseolsuuirok" in consideration of the contents of this work. the record of the copy years and the Transcriber of "Sunseolsuuirok" was around 1917, and it seems that the gentry woman was written. The reasons are based on the bibliographic aspects of this data. Contrasting the "Sunseolsuuirok" and "HongbeakwhaJeon", the contents of the Korean language are mostly abbreviated and omitted. This is not because he translated it himself, but because he had taken the original pattern and made it. "Sunseolsuuirok" is important in the distribution process of "HongbeakwhaJeon" in the 1910s, especially since the title of this novel has been changed and copied to people.

지금까지 학계에 알려진 『홍백화전』의 이본은 한문 필사본, 한글 필사본, 구활자본의 형태로 대략 30여 종이 있다. 그러나 한문본 『홍백화전』에 집중되어 있기 때문에, 한글본 이본의 계통이나 특징에 대한 연구는 미진한 상황이다. 이 글에서 소개하는 『筍薛隨義錄』은 한문본 『홍백화전』의 한글번역본이다. 제명을 이렇게 바꾼 것은 이 소설의 내용에 주목했기 때문이다. 『홍백화전』은 남주인공 桂一枝와 두 여주인공 筍織素, 薛幽蘭의 결연을 다루고 있다. 그러나 소설의 핵심은 여주인공이 결연을 주도하고 성취해 나간다는 점이다. 따라서 필사자는 내용을 고려하여 제목을 새로 붙인 것으로 보인다. 『순설수의록』의 필사 시기와 필사했던 사람은 필사기, 필사자의 다른 필사본을 통해서 확인할 수 있다. 이 책의 필사기는 “뎡사 납월 이십칠일 필관 유난곡”, “한문의 글리 유리하나 부인의 알 바 업기로 대강 알기 쉬운 말만 등서”라고 되어 있다. 필사본은 版心題가 ‘尙和堂’이라 새겨진 종이에다가 필사했는데, 필사자는 이런 곳에다가 여러 작품을 필사했다. ‘뎡사’는 紙質이나 다른 필사본의 필사년도를 고려할 때 1917년으로 보인다. 그리고 필사기에서 자신을 ‘유난곡’, ‘부인’이라 했고, 다른 필사본에서는 “로의라 안력도 희미하고 필녁도 부족하니”라고 필사했다. 이런 점을 고려해 본다면 필사자는 사대부가 여성으로 추정된다. 『순설수의록』은 한문본 『홍백화전』과 대조해 볼 때, 내용이 대부분 축약, 생략되어 있다. 필사기에는 “차 책이 륙권인대 장수가 적기로 다시 개책하여 오권을 결책하여스니 글어 아실 닷”, “차 책이 고칭 『홍백화전』이라. 대강 알기 쉬운 말만 등서”, “본문에 설명처가 업스니 번언하지 못할지라” 등이 있는데, 이를 보아서도 이 책은 자신이 직접 번역한 것이 아니라 선행본을 가져다 필사한 것임을 알 수 있다. 『순설수의록』은 1910년대 『홍백화전』의 유통 과정과 특히 이 소설이 원 제목을 달리해서 사람들에게 필사되어 읽혔다는 정황을 보여준다는 점에서 의미가 있다.
