Ahn is a modern intellectual who represents Korea, and he has left scholarly achievements in various fields. Especially, his Joseon- Munmyeongsa is a highly unusual Korean total history book. First, it clearly shows the systematic history based on the Korean historical sense. It was clearly declared that a distinct theme was escaped from others' vision and we had to cope with our burden. Second, it was established the history on the comparative sense between East and West. Then, It was tried to set up the position of Korean history based on a global perspective. Third, It was suggested a theory of history. It led to faction politics, and his theory of autocracy are today to discuss the nature of between the monarchy and the kingship. This study has reached to the level of history theory by standardizing development models. This feature is a good thing to be able to do it in modern history, and it is still the virtue we need to pursue. Therefore, we can evaluate that it's a future-oriented nature even though it was created about a century ago.

안확은 한국을 대표하는 근대지식인이다. 그는 다양한 분야의 학문적 업적을 남겼다. 특히 󰡔조선문명사󰡕는 이례적인 한국사개설이다. 첫째, 분명한 우리중심의 역사의식을 바탕으로 역사를 체계적으로 제시하였다. 타자의 인식에서 벗어나 주체를 확립하려는 뚜렷한 주제의식을 천명하였다. 둘째, 동서비교사의 관점에서 근대적 역사학을 구축하였다. 세계에서 한국사의 위치를 비정하고자 노력하였다. 셋째, 역사이론의 제시이다. 그의 붕당관은 붕당정치론으로 이어졌고, 군주독재론은 오늘날 군주상이나 왕정의 성격규명까지 영향을 미치고 있다. 이는 역사학의 발전모형을 체계화하여 역사이론의 경지에까지 이른 것이다. 이러한 특징은 현대 역사학에서도 갖추기 어려운 장점이며, 여전히 우리가 추구해야 할 가치이다. 따라서 그의 역사서는 약 1세기 전에 만들어졌음에도 불구하고, 오히려 미래지향적 성격을 담아냈다고 평가해볼 수 있다.
