If we read Choi Chiwon Chinese poems, 4/5 of them use place name noun poetic diction. There is no research on place name as nominative syllabaries in the present study of Choi Chiwon. I think there is a need to pay attention to these noun phrases which are used in Choi Chiwon Chinese poems. The results of the analysis of Goun Choi Chiwon Poems are summarized as follows. Geographical nomenclature can be an important evidence for the study of Choi Chiwon's life study, footsteps and exchange relations. I have seen the possibility that the symbolic of place name noun can be a new subject of the study on Choi Chiwon's literature and his unique spiritual world. I have seen the use of Choi Chiwon's uniqueness of using place name noun through the characteristics of nominative syllables of Choi Chiwon’s Chinese poems. Choi Chiwon’s poems are so similar with the using of Penglai as a new mountain in the Tang poetry. In other respects, Choi Chiwon's Penglai has the meaning of symbolizing the Silla and the Ulji area. It is also seen that the same nominative theoretician is used for the life with many twists and turns through the using of place symbolization such as Yangjae and Penglai.

최치원의 한시를 보면 전체 시의 4/5에 지명시어가 나타난다. 현존하는 최치원 의 한시 연구를 보면 지명시어에 대한 본격적인 연구가 없다. 최치원 한시 중에 큰 비중을 차지하는 지명시어를 주목하여 연구할 필요가 있다고 본다. 고운 최치원 시집 소재 최치원 한시에 나타난 지명시어를 정리하고 분석한 결과 아래와 같은 결론을 얻었다. 지리적인 지명시어는 주로 최치원의 생애 연구와 발자취 및 교류 관계 등 연구 에 중요한 증거가 될 수 있는 것이다. 상징적인 지명시어는 최치원의 문학사상 연 구와 독특한 정신세계를 밝히는 연구에 새로운 연구 대상이 될 수 있는 가능성을 보았다. 최치원의 한시에 나타난 지명시어의 특징을 통하여 최치원이 독특한 전고 지명 시어를 사용하는 점을 보았다. 당시(唐詩)에서 봉래를 신산으로 보는 것이 최치원의 시와 비슷하다. 다른 점이라면 최치원의 봉래는 고국 신라와 은거지(隱居地)를 상징하는 의미가 있다. 그리고 양제성, 봉래 등 지명시어를 통하여 우여곡절이 많 은 인생 때문에 동일한 지명시어를 사용할 때 자신의 상황에 따라서 큰 차이가 나 타나는 것을 알 수 있다.
