Recently, the laundries are becoming magnification and automation, with changing the lifestyle of modern people, and the laundry fires continue to occur annually. In particular, the laundry explosion fires by oil vapor can cause a lot of casualties and property damage because of creating a shock wave as well as flame. Most of them take place by the reaction between ignition sources such as static electricity(friction), spark(short circuit), motor overheating and oil vapor of dry cleaning solvent in dry machine. Among them, static electricity is the most common ignition source in laundry explosion fires, but few systematically studied the explosion condition by static electricity. First, we have verified the explosion characteristics for dry cleaning solvents by investigating the qualitative analysis(GC-MS), flash point, explosive range, hazard(MSDS). This test has measured the minimum ignition energy of static electricity depending on the internal temperature, current, the distance between electrodes. As a result, the minimum ignition energy of static electricity has increased by decreasing internal temperature, current and extending the distance between electrodes.
