The present research is a case study of a pilot free semester program to improve resilience of students. The program applied in the research is ‘Resilience Go Go!’, which aims to help students accept challenges, decisions, and failures they encounter in their lives in a more positive manner. The case study was conducted during the 1st and 2nd semester of 2017, and studied students of Incheon A middle school and Gimpo B middle school. The results indicate that average scores of resilience was increased as a result of the program, and part of the factor scores (self-control, interpersonal relations, positivity) was increased at a statistically significant level. Even though the case is rather limited, the present research confirms that operation of resilience program could have positive impact on the students and also identified necessary conditions for an effective program operation. I hope this research could provide meaningful directions for developing practical and effective programs to improve resilience of students.

본 연구는 학생의 회복탄력성 증진을 위한 자유학기 프로그램 시범교육 사례 연구이다. 본 논문에서 적용한 프로그램은 ‘회복탄력성 Go Go!’로, 학생들이 자신의 삶 가운데서 겪게 될 도전과 선택, 그리고 실패의 경험들을 보다 긍정적인 자세로 받아들일 수 있도록 도와주는 것을 목표로 한다. 본 사례 연구는 2017년 1학기와 2학기에 각각 인천 A 중학교와 김포 B 중학교 학생들을 대상으로 진행되었으며, 프로그램운영 결과 회복탄력성 전체 평균 점수가 향상되었고, 중위요인(자기조절능력, 대인관계능력, 긍정성) 중 일부 점수가 통계적으로 유의미하게향상됨을 확인할 수 있었다. 비록 제한적인 사례와 결과이지만, 본 연구를 통해 회복탄력성 프로그램 운영이 학생들에게 긍정적인 영향을줄 수 있음을 확인하였으며, 보다 효과적인 프로그램 운영을 위해 필요한 사항들을 발견하였다. 학생들의 회복탄력성을 향상시킬 수 있는더욱 실질적이고 효과적인 프로그램 개발 과정에 있어서 본 연구가 의미 있게 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다.
