The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a Career Development Program for Elementary School Student(CDP-E) tailored to the level of third-grade children, which was an CDP-E, on the career development of elementary schoolers in a bid to help expedite the career development of third graders. The findings of the study were as follows. First, when the career development pretest was carried out, there were statistically significant gaps in vocational understanding between the experimental group and control group 2 and between control group 1 and control group 2. It implied that the third graders were different from the fourth graders in vocational understanding, and suggested that separate programs tailored to career development level should be provided in consideration of the difference between the third and fourth graders. Second, there were significant disparities in self-understanding and vocational understanding between the experimental group that participated in the CDP-E and the control groups that didn't. It denoted that the program enabled the children to understand the types and roles of occupations and their own talent or aptitude, and that the application of the CDP-E was effective at stepping up the career development of the third graders. So it could be said that third graders could make a better career development when they receive systematic career education. The findings of the study are expected to contribute to providing successful career guidance to lower graders by applying a variety of programs including CDP-E.

본 연구는 초등학생을 위한 진로지도 프로그램(CDP-E)을 3학년 아동의 수준에 알맞게 수정․보완하여 진로발달에 미치는 영향을 알아봄으로서 3학년 아동의 진로발달을 위한 기초적인 자료를 제시하고자 하 였다. 이를 위해 인천광역시 소재 W초등학교 3․4학년 84명을 연구 대상으로 선정하여 3학년 1개 학급 을 실험집단으로, 나머지 3학년 1개 학급과 4학년 1개 학급을 각각 통제집단 1과 2로 구분하였다. 실험집 단에게는 3학년 아동의 수준에 알맞게 수정․보완한 초등학생을 위한 진로지도 프로그램(CDP-E)을 매주 2회 아침활동 시간 30분씩 총 5주간 9회 적용하였다. 프로그램 적용 후 사전검사에서 활용한 진로발달 검사지를 이용하여 사후검사를 실시하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 진로발달 사전 검사를 실시한 결과 직업의 이 해 영역에서 실험집단과 통제집단 2, 통제집단 1과 통제집단 2는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 즉, 3학년과 4학년의 직업의 이해 정도에 차이가 있다는 것을 의미한다. 이는 3학년과 4학년의 진로발달 수 준이 다르므로 학년의 수준에 알맞은 프로그램을 적용해야 한다는 것을 시사하고 있다. 둘째, 초등학생을 위한 진로지도 프로그램(CDP-E)을 적용한 실험집단과 그렇지 않은 통제집단은 자기이해와 직업의 이해 영역에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 이는 초등학생을 위한 진로지도 프로그램(CDP-E)을 통해 아동들이 직업의 종류와 역할, 자신의 재능이나 적성에 대해서 이해할 수 있었음을 의미한다. 이상의 연구 결과에 의해 저학년을 대상으로 CDP-E 뿐만 아니라 다양한 프로그램을 활용한 진로지도를 실시할 수 있을 것 으로 기대된다.
