The purpose of this study is to identify the effects of a seat-arrangement using sociometric methods on peer-relation. Subjects of the study were the class under a researcher's charge, which consisted of 34 5th graders at B elementary school. Student's seats were rearranged four times according to the choice of favorable and unfavorable peer. Data about children's peer-relation were collected by interviewing and sociometric methods. Research results showed that there were significant changes in peer-relation. The changes in peer-relation were positive or negative. Generally the number of isolated children, neglected children, and rejected children decreased and the number of average children increase. The factors of positive changes in peer-relation were identified as peer's positive personality, excellent competence, positive interaction, recognition of peer's good traits and good reputation. The factors of negative changes in peer-relation were drew as the lack of prosocial behavior, social immaturity and bad reputation.

본 연구는 사회성 측정법을 이용한 자리 배치가 교우관계에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 알아보는 것이다. 연구대상은 본 연구자가 담임을 맡고 있는 학급이며, B 초등학교 5학년 34명이다. 학생의 자리는 사회성 측정법에 나타난 선호 및 배척관계에 기초하여 4번 바꾸었다. 교우관계에 관한 자료는 면접과 사회성 측 정법으로 수집하였다. 연구결과 교우관계에 의미 있는 변화가 나타났다. 이러한 변화는 긍정적인 면과 부 정적인 면이 있다. 일반적으로 고립아, 소외아, 배척아의 수는 감소하고 보통아의 수는 증가하였다. 교우 관계에서 긍정적 변화의 요인으로 긍정적 성격, 뛰어난 능력, 긍정적 상호작용, 좋은 특성의 발견, 좋은 평판이 도출되었다. 교우관계에서 부정적 변화의 요인으로는 친사회적 행동의 결여, 사회적 미성숙, 나쁜 평판이 도출되었다.
