Korea is North Korea's missile launches and the Donald Trump government's economic openness, and Additional defense spending, and the deployment of THADD, have led to China's economic sanctions. North-South relations deterioration and Between the United States and China, South Korea is facing military and economic damage. If Korea does not change, the provocation of North Korea will continue, and in the future, in the conflict with America and Japan, all the damage will be the appearance of Korea. Nevertheless, the defense policy of the Ministry of Defense is mostly focused on the US and Northeast Asian countries, which have a direct impact and are in desperate need of change. In this paper, we will try to solve the defense diplomacy diversification in Southeast Asia. To this end, it will help to recognize the necessity of Southeast Asian countries and defense diplomacy by presenting the geographical significance of Southeast Asia and the current position of military power and economic power. Based on the methodology, And suggested directions for activation and orientation.

한국은 지속되는 북한의 미사일도발과 트럼프 정부 출범이후 경제개방, 방위비 분담문제, 사드배치에 따른 중국의 경제보복 등 남북관계는 물론 미국과 중국 사이에서 군사적, 경제 적 피해를 보고 있는 상태이다. 만약 한국이 변화하지 않는다면 북한의 도발은 지속될 것이 고 미래에도 미국, 일본과의 갈등 속에서 모든 피해는 한국이 지는 모습이 될 것이다. 그럼 에도 불구하고 국방부의 국방정책은 대부분 직접적인 영향을 미치는 미국과 동북아 주요국 가로 치중되어 있어 변화가 절실한 상태이다. 본 논문에서는 국방외교 다변화방안에 대해 동남아를 중심으로 풀어보고자 한다. 이를 위해 동남아의 지리적 중요성과, 군사력 및 경제력의 현 주소를 제시하여 동남아 국가와 국방외 교의 필요성 인식을 돕고, 그에 따른 방법론 측면에서 인적 네트워크 구축, 군사협력 강화, 방산교역 활성화를 중점으로 국방외교의 활성화 전략과 지향방향을 제시하였다.
