The purpose of this study is to investigate the mediation effect of career self-efficacy in the relation between the perceived attachment with the mother and the children’s career maturity. The participants were 385 5th and 6th graders from three elementary schools located in Gyung-gi province of Korea. Hierarchical multiple regression analysis was conducted to analyze the data. The results are as follows. Firstly, the perceived attachment with the mother was significantly related to career self-efficacy(r=.231) and also to career maturity(r=.394). Career self-efficacy was significantly related to children’s career maturity(r=.189). Secondly, the result of a hierarchical regression analysis showed that the education- related career self-efficacy partially mediated the relationship between attachment with the mother and the career maturity. Implications and limitations of the current study are described.

이 연구는 초등학생이 인식하는 모애착이 진로성숙에 미치는 영향에서 진로자기효능감이 매개효과를 나타내는지를 탐색하기 위하여 이루어졌다. 연구의 대상은 수도권에 위치한 초등학교 5,6학년 385명이었다. 모애착과 진로성숙의 관계에서 진로자기효능감의 매개효과를 분석하기 위해 위계적 회귀분석을 사용하였다. 연구의 결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 초등학생이 인식하는 모애착은 진로 자기효능감(r=.231), 진로성숙(r=.394)과 각각 유의미한 상관관계가 있었으며, 진로자기효능감과 진로성숙도 유의미한 상관관계(r=.189)가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 회귀분석 결과 진로자기효능감 중 교육진로자기효능감이 초등학생이 인식한 모애착과 진로성숙의 관계를 부분매개 하는 것으로 나타났다. 연구의 의의, 연구의 제한점 및 후속 연구를 위한 제언이 기술되었다.
