Art therapy, which develops positive aspects in the lives of the elderly in an aging society, is a significant activity in raising the quality of life in old age. The purpose of this study was laying the groundwork through meta-analysis of elder art therapy for more effective latter study of elder art therapy which has the purpose as improvement of the therapeutic environment and quality. For the purpose of this study, 77 graduate theses which were published in the latest from the relevant graduate schools in 2012~2016 analysis by a meta-analysis. As a result of the study, the distribution of the number of subjects in the study was the highest in 6-10 persons, 40 persons, and more than 3 times more than the female elder people In dispersion of the characteristic of research object, the highest dispersion was a dementia in 34 research theses. In dispersion of the housing type of subject, the highest dispersion was a solitude in 15 research theses, In dispersion of the intervention(therapy) environment, the highest dispersion was a welfare facilities for the aged in 10 research theses, In dispersion of the art therapy program, the highest dispersion was a hybrid method in 47 research theses. The distribution of total number of art therapy sessions was the highest at 11 ~ 15 sessions with 35 sessions and the average session duration was 15.1 sessions. In dispersion of the time required a session of art, he highest dispersion was 50-60 minutes in 52 graduate theses. The research on the elderly art therapy was found to lack the physical and social aspects. Therefore, in the follow-up study, it is necessary to expand the therapeutic importance of the physical and social aspects.

고령화 사회에서 노인의 삶에 있어서 긍정적 측면을 개발하는 미술치료는 노년기 삶의 질을 높여 주는 데 큰 의미가 있는 활동이다. 본 연구는 노인미술치료 메타분석을 통하여 노인미술치료의 치료 적 환경 및 질의 향상에 보다 효과적인 노인미술치료 연구가 진행될 수 있는 기반을 마련하는데 그 연구목적을 두었다. 따라서 최근 2012년도부터 2016년도까지 발표된 노인미술치료 관련 학위논문 총 77편에 대한 메타분석을 실시하였다. 그 연구결과, 연구대상의 인원수 분포는 40편인 6-10명이 가장 높게 나타났고, 남성노인에 비해 여성노인의 3배 이상 많은 성비를 나타냈다. 연구대상 특성은 34편으로 치매가 가장 높은 분포로 나타났다. 연구대상의 주거유형 분포는 15편인 독거가 가장 높게 나타났고, 치료환경 분포는 노인복지시설이 10편으로 가장 높게 나타났으며, 미술치료 프로그램 분 포는 47편인 복합기법이 가장 높게 나타났다. 미술치료 총 회기 수 분포는 35편인 11-15회기가 가장 높게 나타났으며 평균 진행회기는 15.1회기이다. 미술치료 1회기 소요시간 분포는 52편인 50~60분이 가장 높게 나타났다. 노인미술치료에 관한 연구는 신체적 측면과 사회적 측면이 부족한 것으로 확인 되었다. 따라서 후속연구에서는 신체적, 사회적 측면의 치료적 중요성을 확대 할 필요가 있다.
