The purpose of this study is to investigate the experiences that the out-of-school adolescents perceive problem or difficulty in the career planning, to analyze the meaning of the experience of career design outside the school through the explored experience, to find out the way to help them prepare career design such as career counseling and policy support. For this purpose, One-to-one in-depth interviews were conducted to find out career design experience of out-of-school adolescents who used to or experiencing after leaving the formal education curriculum, out-of-school adolescents support center "KkumDream" One-to-one in-depth interviews were conducted. The qualitative research method was used for the research and the data collection was carried out twice from May to November, 2017, including the preliminary survey. The results of this study are summarized as follows. First, the research participants in this study prepare the GED for the career design and continue their studies for the graduation of high school graduation. This means that out-of-school adolescents just leave the school as a "place" but they dose’t abandon their studies. Second, out - of - school adolescents are worried about career planning immediately after dropping out. But they are motivated by diverse experience just before or after There was also a strong need for career information and career counseling. Third, out - of - school adolescents found meaning of career design from their sense of accomplishment to resolve their identity. Out-of-school adolescents were confused by the ambiguous identity and wanted to find their own identity by acting them. The GED diploma was big significance for them through passing the GED, and they have gained confidence through the reward of graduating from high school. Also they have sense of accomplishment out of the fact that they earned their diplomas faster than regular students, for themselves. Fourth, career design experience has become the factor that can actively change the youth out of school. In the experience of career design, out-of-school adolescents felt the necessity of personal change and this led to active information search. Although there may have been some uneasiness due to trial and error in the situation of designing a career by themselves, this tension made it possible to more concentrate on career design. Fifth, It was found that support and encouragement of family and surrounding people were lacked in career design experience. For young people, the emotional support and encouragement of others is an important step in the career design process. However, the family members of the out-of-school adolescents who participated in the study were not able to be interested in them because of their individual home environment. In addition, there are few career-related conversations in the home.
