- The Passer montanus or the Eurasian Tree Sparrow (ETS) is a species of birds that is abundant in the Philippines. The ETS are being sold in some places in the urban areas, and some are taken care as pets. This study aims to determine whether the target bird caged with others contain more parasites than those caged individually. Twelve birds were bought from a local dealer and the feces were collected and sent to the Bureau of Animal Industry, and examinated for parasites. The results show that birds in groups relatively host more parasites than those caged individually.
