In the auditorium of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, 『Ksitigarbha scriptures』 teaches the value of Unintended Buddhist Alms that he gave up all he had and shared them with everyone evenly with bearing indefinite sacrifice and without expecting returns all for the sake of others. Further, it helps learn appropriate attitudes of those who teach or learn by enlightening the roles and importance of a Buddhist priest of high virtue. In this respect, it seems related to Servant Leadership that has recently drawn attention. The purpose of this study is to utilize 『Ksitigarbha scriptures』 in early childhood servant leadership education. To this end this study examined the elements of servant leadership in 『Ksitigarbha scriptures』as a basic study. The study method is as follows. First, the concepts of Ksitigarbha scriptures and servant leadership were summarized. Next, the contents related to servant leadership from the contents of 『Ksitigarbha scriptures』were extracted and the relationship between each factor and servant leadership was examined. As a result, the contents of 『Ksitigarbha scriptures』related to servant leadership were classified as ‘a person of high virtue’, ‘offering’, and ‘equality’. The factors related to servant leadership are empathy, listening, commitment to growth, foresight, persuasion, conceptualization in the category of ‘a person of high virtue’, stewardship, conceptualization in the category of ‘offering’ and awareness, community building in the category of ‘equality’. The results of this study suggest that 『Ksitigarbha scriptures』are worthy of use in early childhood servant leadership education.

『지장경』에서는 지장보살의 서원을 통해 타인을 위한 무한한 희생과 대가를 바라지 않고 모든 사람들에게 평등하게 베푸는 무주상 보시의 가치를 알려 주고 있으며, 나아가 선지식의 역할과 중요성을 통해 가르치는 자와 배우는 자의 바람직한 자세를 깨닫도록 하고 있다. 이러한 점은 최근 주목 받고 있는 섬김의 리더십이라고 불리는 서번트 리더십과 연관성이 있다고 볼 수 있다. 그러므로 이 연구에서는 유아 서번트 리더십 교육에 있어 『지장경』을 활용하고자 하는 데 목적을 두고, 이를 위한 기초연구로서 『지장경』에 나타난 서번트 리더십의 요소를 탐색한 것이다. 이에 대한 연구방법은 다음과 같다. 먼저 지장경과 서번트 리더십의 개념을 정리하였다. 다음으로 『지장경』의 내용 중 서번트 리더십과 관련 된 내용을 추출하고 각각의 내용이 서번트 리더십의 어떠한 요인과 관련이 있는지 살펴보았다. 연구결과 서번트 리더십과 관련된 『지장경』의 내용은 ‘선지식’, ‘보시’, ‘평등’으로 분류되었다. 서번트 리더십과 관련된 요소로는 ‘선지식’에서는 공감․경청·구성원의 성장ㆍ통찰ㆍ설득ㆍ비전제시, ‘보시’에서는 스튜어드십·비전제시, ‘평등’에서는 자기이해·공동체 형성이 관련 요소로 나타났다. 이상과 같은 연구결과는 『지장경』이 유아 서번트 리더십 교육에 있어 활용가치가 있음을 시사하는 것이라 할 수 있다.
