Pastor recognizes that preaching is the great behavior to proclaiming God’s Word in worship, and the core method changing church communities. Therefore, The Westminster Directory, which also describes preaching as “a declaration of the power of God to guide salvation, and one of the greatest and most distinguished services in the work of the gospel.” And the believers also think that God speaks to them through the preacher's sermon which is a universal way. That is, the believers are sure that God directly and indirectly intervenes and changes their life through the sermon. In this respect, the role of the sermon in Christianity is absolute. The author as a homiletician, however, never forget the following questions. Does really preacher constantly affects the life of the believer? or the power of preaching changes the life of the believers in worship service? And is it really change in life because the believers constantly meditate themselves the sermon? or does several preaching listened in a week change the life? Obviously, until now, most of the preaching theory has only focused on the homiletic relationship of the preacher and the believers, and not on whether to form one's own life by continuing to meditate on the sermon the audience heard. God does not want to end the preacher’s sermon in a short period of time with the actions of ‘speaking’ and ‘listening’. God wishes to prolong the intimate friendship with the living God. In this regard, the bible meditation through the sermon can be regarded as a practical(homiletical) theology subject to be observed by pastors. Therefore, this paper takes a different view on how to meditate the Bible through a sermon appropriate to today’s time. In particular, I would like to explain to pastors(preachers) how to be able to lead the believers to a week of meditation in preaching ministry.

목사는 설교를 하나님의 말씀을 선포하는 위대한 행위로써, 교회 공동체를 변화시키는 핵심적인 수단으로 인식한다. 그러므로 웨스트민스터 예배모범(The Westminster Directory)에서도 설교를 가리켜 “구원으로 인도하는 하나님의 능력이며 복음 사역에 있어서 가장 위대하고 탁월한 일에 해당하는 말씀 선포”라고 정의한다. 또한 신자들도 하나님께서 보편적 방법인 설교자의 설교를 통해 자신들에게 말씀하신다고 믿는다. 결국, 기독교에서 설교의 역할은 절대적이라 할 수 있다. 그러나 설교학자로서 필자는 다음과 같은 질문들이 머리에서 지워지지 않는다. 과연, 설교가 신자의 삶에 지속적으로 영향을 주는 것일까? 아니면, 예배 시간에 설교의 능력이 성도들의 삶을 바꾸는 것일까? 혹은 과연, 신자는 설교를 지속적으로 묵상하기에 삶에 변화가 나타나는 것일까? 아니면, 한주 동안에 경청한 여러 편의 설교가 삶을 변화시키는 건가? 분명한 건, 대부분의 설교 이론은 설교자와 성도의 설교적 관계에 치중되어 있을 뿐, 청중이 들었던 설교를 지속적으로 묵상하여 자신의 삶을 형성해 나가는가에 관한 관심을 갖지 않는다. 그러나 하나님은 설교자의 설교를 짧은 시간동안 ‘말함’과 ‘들음’이라는 행위로만 끝내길 원치 않으신다. 살아계신 하나님과의 깊은 교제로 연장되길 소원하신다. 그러므로 설교를 통한 성경 묵상은 설교 목회에서 목회자가 주목해야 할 실천신학(설교학)적 주제일 것이다. 이런 점에서 본 논문은 작금의 시대에 알맞은 설교를 통한 성경 묵상 방법을 나름의 관점에서 설명하려 한다. 특히, 목회자(설교자)를 중심으로 어떻게 성도에게 설교 묵상 방법을 한 주간 이끌 수 있는지 설교 목회 차원에서 제안하고자 한다.
