This paper is a study for holiness and sexuality of church leaders. It approaches with practical theological analysis based on a church mechanism that establishes a sexual blind spot, not based on personal ethics. It aims to contribute towards aligning the church system with sound sex ethics by unearthing the close connectivity of the church system, ultimately paving the way for the recovery of church leaders’ divinity as well as developing alternatives to revive holiness of church. In Chapter 2, by referencing the Bible, it searches that the relation of holiness and sexuality is an essential element to church leaders, and absolute power of pastors weakens sexuality and impoverishes church communities. In Chapter 3, the relationship between christianity and sexuality is examined from the perspective of christian ethics, responsibility, and wholeness. In Chapter 4, it sees three causes of sexual depravation of church leaders as the impersonal collectivity in church, the relationship between power and sexuality, and sexual mechanism in church. It analyzes that the problems of church mechanism is that a sexual offense concealment system works continuously through practical theological factors : church law, church politics and administration, preaching and education, benediction and authority over personal matters, as well as counselling and visits. In Chapter 5, it covers the church’s systematic recovery of sex-related issues, arguing that close connectivity of the church can be achieved not by sticking to hierarchy or exclusive leadership, but by respecting differences among communities and forming communities based on voluntary participation and union. In conclusion, it suggests several alternatives to recover the divinity of the church: achieving a hierarchical system that does not discriminate between men and women; developing disciplinary laws against sex offender pastors; establishing a hotline and providing shelters for women; modifying practical theology in order to reflect the importance of gender equality and sound sex ethics.

본 논문은 교회리더의 성(聖)과 성(性)에 관해 개인윤리로서가 아니라, 교회 메커니즘의 문제로 접근하여 이를 실천신학적으로 분석하고, 교회 유기체성 회복을 통해 성적으로 건강한 교회시스템을 만들어, 교회리더의 거룩 회복과 교회 갱신적인 대안을 모색해보려는 목적에 맞닿아 있다. 제2장에서는 성직자로 분류된 교회리더에게 있어 성(聖)과 성(性)은 대단히 중요한 요소이며, 절대 권력이 성적 유혹에 얼마나 취약하며, 개인과 공동체를 피폐하게 만드는지 성경을 통해 살펴보았다. 제3장에서는 기독교 신앙과 성(性)의 관련성을 윤리, 책임, 전인성의 차원에서 살폈다. 기독교 신앙은 인간의 성 활동과 성문제를 포함하며, 성의 목적은 생육과 대화, 친밀과 교제, 문화와 신앙, 궁극적으로 하나님의 형상을 반영하는 것이기에 기독신앙과 성은 함께 해야 함을 논증하였다. 제4장에서는 교회리더의 타락의 원인을 교회의 비인격적인 집단성, 목회자의 권력 집중과 성을 남용, 악용하기 쉽게 만드는 ‘권력과 성의 관계’, 여성을 열등하게 보거나 죄책을 가중시키는 교리로써 여성을 종속시키는 ‘성적 메커니즘’으로 보았고, 이러한 교회 메커니즘이 교회법, 교회정치와 행정, 설교와 교육, 축도와 인사권, 상담과 심방이란 실천신학의 제요소 안에서 작동하고 있음을 분석하였다. 제5장에서는 성과 관련한 교회의 유기체성 회복을 다뤘다. 교회의 유기체성은 남녀 직분위계나 독점적인 리더십이 아니라, 지체들의 다양성이 존중되고, 자발적인 참여와 연합으로 이뤄지는 하나님 나라의 공동체임을 밝혔다. 결론으로 교회리더의 거룩성 회복과 교회갱신적 대안으로, 건강하고 창의적인 성 신학 연구, 남녀 수평적인 직분구조, 성범죄 목사에 대한 면직과 징계법 마련, 여성을 위한 ‘핫라인’과 ‘설교 피드백’, 쉼터설치, 그리고 남녀평등과 성 인식의 중요성에 적합한 실천신학 제 이론들의 수정과 보완연구를 제시하였다.
