Study of writer and critical biography are starting point of all literature research. If study of writer and critical biography are poor, subsequent research will be inferior. The lack of research on Songgang’s literature is due to the lack of a proper study of writer and the lack of critical biography. In order to properly write the theory of writer and critical biography, research on the writer's whole lifetime should be preceded. That is to say, a proper annual report should be written. The existing songgang’s annual report is devoted to political history. The interests of today's literary researchers have not been reflected at all. In order to overcome the sluggishness of Songgang literature research, a new annual report should be written. New annual report needs to be written in the following directions and methods. First, it describes from politics to daily life. Secondly, Songgang as a poet can be caught by maximizing the literary related describtions. Third, insert the annotation that informs the front and the rear context between the article and the article so that the whole is organic. Following effects can be expected from the newly written Songgang's annual report. First, it can be of great help to researchers who sincerely and seriously read Songgang's literature. Second, new facts related to Songgang are clarified and errors can be corrected to help read Songgang literature accurately. Thirdly, it is possible to write a new writing such as "reading a text with annual report". Fourth, we can lay the foundations for a more authoritarian theory or even more reliable than the existing one.

작가론과 평전은 모든 문학 연구의 출발점이다. 작가론과 평전이 부실하면 후속 연구도 부실해지기 마련이다. 송강 문학 연구가 부진한 것은 일정 부분 제대로 된 작가론과 평전의 부재에서 말미암는다. 작가론과 평전을 제대로 쓰기 위해서는 작가의 행적에 대한 연구가 선행되어야 한다. 즉 제대로 된 『연보』가 쓰여져야 한다. 기존의 『연보』는 정치사에 편중되어 있다. 그리하여 오늘날의 문학 연구자의 관심사가 전혀 반영되지 않았다. 송강 문학 연구의 부진을 타개하기 위해서는 새로운 『연보』가 필요하다. 새로운 『연보』는 다음과 같은 방향과 방법으로 쓰여질 필요가 있다. 첫째, 정치사 중심에서 일상사 중심으로 기술한다. 둘째, 문학 관련 행적 기술에 최대한 공을 들여 시인으로서의 송강상이 잡힐 수 있도록 한다. 셋째, 기사와 기사 사이에 전후 맥락을 알려주는 주석을 삽입하여 전체가 유기성을 갖추도록 한다. 새로 쓰여질 송강의 『연보』를 통해 다음과 같은 효과를 기대할 수 있다. 첫째, 송강의 문학을 성실하게, 진지하게 읽고자 하는 연구자들에게 큰 도움이 될 수 있다. 둘째, 송강과 관련된 새로운 사실들이 밝혀지고 오류가 바로잡힘으로써 송강 문학을 정확하게 읽을 수 있도록 도와줄 수 있다. 셋째, 송강의 행적이 상세하게 밝혀짐으로써 “｢연보｣와 문학 작품의 엮어 읽기”와 같은 새로운 글쓰기가 가능할 수 있다. 넷째, 기존의 것보다 더 신뢰할 수 있는 작가론이나 『평전』이 나올 수 있는 기반을 마련할 수 있다.
