New textbooks based on 2015 revised moral education curriculum have been distributed in the field of moral education and the teachers in the field are required to apply ‘Doing Moral’ to their moral education. However, the training materials and teaching & learning materials that have been provided to schools lack enough information on what ‘Doing Moral’ means in detail as well as how to apply it. This is even considered to be a serious problem in the field of elementary school education where the revised moral education curriculum needs to be applied in addition to various subjects. Against this backdrop, this study was carried out to establish the principle of applying ‘Doing Moral’, a concept in the 2015 revised moral education curriculum, through semantic structuring, and to propose specific action plans applicable to the moral education in elementary schools through examples.

2015 개정 도덕과 교육과정에서 새롭게 등장한 ‘도덕함’은 개념과 의미 규정을 두고 논쟁이 계속 되고 있다. 하지만 ‘도덕함’의 논쟁이 진행 중인 상황과는 별개로 2105 개정 도덕과 교육과정에 의거한 교과서가 이미 배포되었고 그로 인한 현장의 도덕과 교육에 ‘도덕함’이 적용되어 구현되어야 하는 것은 또 다른 문제이다. 일선 학교에 보급된 연수 및 교수․학습 자료를 확인해보면 ‘도덕함’ 적용 방안의 정보 제공은 물론이고 ‘도덕함’의 의미를 상세하게 설명한 자료도 부족하다. 이는 다양한 교과를 다루며 2015 개정 도덕과 교육과정을 적용해야하는 초등의 도덕과 교육 현장에서는 심각한 문제로까지 인식된다. 이에 본 연구는 2015 개정 도덕과 교육과정의 핵심개념인 ‘도덕함’의 의미 구조화를 통한 실천의 방안을 설정하고, 초등학교 도덕과 교육에 구현할 수 있는 구체적인 적용 방법을 한 가지의 예시를 통해 제안하는 것을 주요한 목적으로 진행하였다.
