The purpose of this study was to develop Socionet, a computer-based diagnostic tool which allows homeroom teachers to diagnose the entire class members' dynamic movements and identify their personalities for elementary school students' guidance and actually apply it to class to discover various realistic ways for guidance. For this purpose, first, it developed a social skills questionnaire with two valid and reliable questions in the empirical level based on the sociometric. Then it discussed how Socionet is developed as a computer-based tool used to process the preference responses for the questionnaire. The developed Socionet data were entered to measure each individual child's personality characteristics and the dynamics of class. Second, the dynamics of class based on the liking of children were determined by various forms of subgroups, dual relations, and loners to complete a peer-group network to discuss which form of guidance is right for each individual child or each subgroup. Finally, the various characteristics, applicability, and limitation of Socionet developed in Korea were discussed.

이 연구는 초등학교 학생들의 생활지도를 위하여 담임교사가 학급전체 인원의 역동적인 움직임을 진단할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 그들의 성격적인 특성까지 파악할 수 있는 컴퓨터프로그램 기반 진단도구(socionet)를 개발하여 실제로 학급에 적용하고 이를 통하여 다양한 생활지도의 현실적인 방법을 찾아내는 데 있다. 이를 위하여 첫째, 사회성측정(sociometric)에서 말하는 경험적인 수준의 타당하고 신뢰로운 2문항으로 구성된 사회성측정 질문지를 개발한다. 그리고 질문지에 나타난 선호 및 배척문항에 대한 응답 반응을 자료처리 할 수 있는 컴퓨터기반 측정 도구인 Socionet을 개발하는 과정을 밝힌다. 개발된 Socionet에 자료를 입력하여 개별 아동의 성격 특성과 학급집단의 역동을 측정한다. 둘째, 아동들의 선호성(liking)에 근거한 학급집단의 역동을 다양한 형태의 하위집단, 이자관계, 외톨이로 각각 판별하고 이를 바탕으로 친구관계도(peer-group network)를 완성하여 각 개별아동 및 하위집단 별 아동의 특징에 적합한 생활지도의 현실적인 가능성을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 한국에서 개발된 Socionet의 다양한 특징과 활용가능성, 그리고 제한점이 논의되었다.
